Employer’s Requirement 1-7R

 Automatically tensioned flexible Catenary system shall be comprise a 120 mm2


Copper Magnesium messenger wire supporting a copper-Silver contact wire of 150
sq mm by means of flexible current carrying droppers. Contact wire with brazed
joints shall not be permitted. Both the messenger wire and contact wire shall be
automatically tensioned so that they are maintained at substantially constant
tensions of 12kN.

 The contact wire is joint less hard drawn grooved flat bottom copper- silver contact
wire of 150 sq.mm cross section having a dia of 14.50 mm conforming to latest
RDSO specification TI/SPC/OHE/CW9Cu-Ag)/0130 or EN50149 as stringent. The
contact wire shall be continuous and splicing or jointing of the conductor is not
permitted.

3. The Messenger wire is made of copper wire copper-magnesium with cross section of 120
sq.mm. It shall conform to RDSO specification TI/SPC/OHE/CAT(Mg-Cu)/0120.

2.7 Rolling Stock &Train Operation Plan

a) Train Operation Plan


 Year 2021 - Train operation with 6 car Trains with headway of 5.5 min
between Andheri- Dahisar is planned in the year 2021 with Peak Hour
Peak Direction Capacity of 19156 @ 6 persons per square meter of
standee area (Capacity of 24480 @ 8 persons per square meter of
standee area under dense loading conditions).
Year 2031 - Train operation with 6 car Trains with headway of 5.5 min
between Andheri- Dahisar is planned in the year 2031 with Peak Hour
Peak Direction Capacity of 19156 @ 6 persons per square meter of
standee area (Capacity of 24480 @ 8 persons per square meter of
standee area under dense loading conditions).

b) Train Frequency
 The train operation plan provides for 5.5 min headway with 6 – Car
train in Andheri- Dahisar during peak hours and 16 min headway during
lean hours in the year 2021.
 The train operation plan provides for 5.5 min headway with 6 – Car
train in Andheri- Dahisar during peak hours and 16 min headway during
lean hours in the year 2031.
 The train operation plan to be designed for headway of 96 seconds
with 8 car beyond year 2031.

c) Train Formation
To meet the projected traffic demand, the possibility of running trains with
composition of 6 Car trains with different headways have been examined.

DMC : Driving Motor Car
MC : Motor Car
TC : Trailer Car
6-car train composition: DMC+TC+MC+ MC+TC+DMC
