This document proposes a training project in Computer Systems Servicing NCII for 20 students at Prieto-Diaz National High School from November 2015 to February 2016. The training aims to prepare students for the NCII assessment in March 2016 by teaching them the skills required to pass four certificates of competency in areas like installing and configuring computer systems, setting up networks and servers, and maintaining computer systems. The project hopes to give students career opportunities and reduce unemployment by obtaining this nationally-recognized certification. Risks like financial constraints and time limitations for students are addressed, and the proposal requests budget and support from the school and stakeholders.

Budget requirement: Please see Detailed Budget Requirements J. Budget requested: Please see Detailed Budget Requirements II. BACKGROUND / SITUATION ANALYSIS The national government of the Philippines is in the fourth year of implementation of K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum that aims to address poverty by giving every graduate an opportunity to be a productive citizen. It will be made possible by means of earning National Certificates (NC) from TESDA through assessment. These NC’s were recognized globally by different sectors and industries, thus, giving every graduate of the present curriculum an assurance of being competent and productive citizen. The proponent is focusing on the last first of soon to be senior high school students of K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum who are presently taking up Information and Communications Technology - Computer Systems Servicing (ICT-CSS) as their specialization in Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE). They are covered by the program of K to 12 BEC which assures automatic assessment after grade 10 - that is why the proponent think of the way on how they could earn their NCII. He seeks information on how his students can be an NCII holder by means of asking / inquiring on TESDA Sorsogon. The noble information officer of TESDA replied “Just prepare Php500.00 for registration and look for Mr. Tristan Detera of CCDI for more information”. The proponent then communicated to Mr. Detera, who positively replied that he can schedule for student’s assessment on March 5, 2016 and it could be done in CCDI, Sorsogon City. He also gave additional information about the conduct and coverage of the assessment. With this positive reply, the proponent was motivated that he can help his fellowmen by means of this proposed training / Sunday class in order for the students to be 100% prepared for the assessment. The proposed training is necessary since there is a time constraint on the regular class. One hour is not enough to finish even one of those competencies especially CoC 2 and CoC 3. Students will not realize the product / outcome if they will not able to finish each competency. The students / beneficiaries above are those who can afford to pay Php500.00 for the TESDA Assessment. He is hoping that this proposal will be made possible by giving him support to train those students since it is not just about his legacy but it is about the school and children’s welfare. III. PROJECT OBJECTIVES: OBJECTIVES At the end of the training, the students are expected to learn and perform the following area of Computer Systems Servicing: 1. Certificate of Competency 1 (CoC 1) - Install and Configure computer system and network. A. Assembling B. Disassembling C. Formatting D. Cabling E. Networking F. Occupational Health and Safety Procedures G. PC troubleshooting 2. Certificate of Competency 2 (CoC 2) - Set up computer network A. Set up plastic molding B. Patching and Crimping C. Testing Patched and Crimped panels D. Install and Configure Routers, Switch hubs, Repeaters, and Access points. 3. Certificate of Competency 3 (CoC 3) – Set up Computer Server A. Create USB Bootable device B. Formatting computer using create bootable drive C. Set up network services through remote access, domain controller, web services, file, printer and other resource sharing. D. Set up print servers 4. Certificate of Competency 4 (CoC 4) – Maintain and Repair computer Systems and Networks. A. Plan and prepare for maintenance and repair B. Diagnose Faults of Computer system and networks C. Rectify and correct defects in computer systems and Networks D. Inspect and test the computer systems and networks STRATEGIES The following are the strategies to be implemented during the training. The combination of these strategies can be applied depending upon the topic on that day. 1. Direct observation of Application to task and questions related to the required knowledge. 2. Demonstration with oral questioning 3. Written Test 4. Discussion 5. Peer Sharing IV. DESIRED IMPACT AND OUTCOME OF THE PROJECT: a. What are the long term effects of the project? This project aims to give the students an opportunity to be an NCII holder in Computer Systems Servicing. Since NCII is recognized globally, the passers of these assessment can easily find a job to the fact that it is an assurance of the government to the companies that they (NCII holders) are globally competitive. The impact of this project to the students is that, they can earn a living even if they cannot afford to pursue their study in college. It can also motivate other students to be religious in their study especially if they saw the beneficiaries of this project successful in their career and living. These can also prepare the students to be competitive globally in terms of Information Technology, and; economically, it will help the government lessen or even eliminate the level of poverty and unemployment rate in our nation. b. What are the specific measures to sustain the project? This project should be sustained by means of continuous implementation in the future years. The support from the school administration and its stakeholders is a big factor to be considered to sustain this. The proponent is doing his best to tap this project in LGU Prieto- Diaz since the goal of the local government thru the leadership of Hon. Boytee L. Doma is to help its constituents’ be a productive Filipinos. The connection of TESDA and DepEd is a core of the sustainability of this project since they one of the main agencies for the implementation of K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum. V. RISK MANAGEMENT PLAN a. What are the risk and factors that may hamper or hinder the successful implementation of project activities and achievement of project outputs? One of the factors that may hinder the success of this project is the lack of financial support to sustain the project since some of the beneficiaries’ residences are far from the training location. Our students are willing to be assess in Computer Systems Servicing but some of them cannot afford to pay for TEDSA Assessment Fee. Another one is the lack of time on the part of the participants due to the fact that some of them are obliged to help their parents to work for a living. b. What are the measures that would mitigate the adverse effects resulting from such risks? One of the measures that can be of great help in mitigating those hindrances is by means of scheduling their available time. Another is by giving them a module that will advance their ideas about computer systems servicing. The modules / training manuals downloadable from the website of TESDA can be of big help and the proponent would like to adopt it and enrich its contents in order for the trainees to become more familiar about their specialization. VI. PROJECT WORK PLAN / TRAINING ACTIVITY MATRIX A. Date / Schedule per group B. Groupings VII. DETAILED BUDGET REQUIREMENT * Approximate Amount Only The proponent is hoping for the positive response from the school head and the stakeholders since this activity / training will enhance the ability of the participants in Computer Systems Servicing in order for them to pass the NCII Assessment. NC II means employability, and it gigantically means good future for this generation. Prepared by: ALVIN D. LABAN Proponent
