Educational attainment is any jobs’ basis for recruiting people. This also proves true

when it comes to the peoples’ votes as their basis for choosing the right person on to

the right job in the government. This also applies to whom and what qualities they want

to see when choosing a senate to vote for. The question is who and what educational

level have they achieved to deserve them to be elected by the masses.

People tend to vote for those who have a degree in law since it shows evidence

of their gained knowledge rather than other politicians who have not attained

knowledge that are easily learned through education. When voting, most voters

research what educational attainment and achievements they received to know if they

are voting the right person for the job. When running as a senator, having a degree in

law is recommended because a senator must be educated about his job thus knowing

what to do and will be able to make the correct judgment. Based on the given

statements, having a degree in law is as a prerequisite to be elected as Senate is far

more constructive for the people than not having a degree in law.

Politicians with no leadership skills are not what the people need and if such

politicians are easily offended, their judgment will be clouded thus unable to engage a

proper negotiation. When this occurs, it will most likely lead to a bad ending. For a

senate, proper judgment is needed when implementing laws. When one has

underwent education, one will also learn the proper way of conduct and education in

law will help one withstand the urge of anger until it subsides allowing your mind to

have a clear, unclouded judgment of any matter.

Anyone can be a Senator if you meet the constitution’s requirements. Anyone

can also mean people who want to be in the position for personal gain or people who

want to lead but do not have the capacity, talent, or leadership to do so. Senator Miriam

Defensor Santiago says the Constitution should be amended to require candidates for

national positions to be college graduates to stop "idiots" from running. Stated “idiots”

include people who do not have educational attainment and those who do not have a

proper conduct as a high official. The requirements of the amended Constitution will

choose people more fit to the national positions and being a college graduate and

having educational attainment are what any high official position needs in our society.

An uneducated politician may have unique qualities and follow ethics which can

contribute to the government law yet this will be ineffective if he does not know how to

make papers, reports and planning. What is most important is having a mental acuity.

If you are going to run for a higher post, at least give yourself an educational

attainment. Although some may agree that educational attainment does not define

what kind of a leader a person will be, academic standards are needed, especially

because they are creating laws.

Most reasons why some intelligent people are not educated enough is because

of their poor standing which also made them have a lower rate to be elected by voters

because of not attaining proper education but now that public education is free from

kindergarten to college, there is no reason why poor people who strive to be politicians

are unable to attain education. The uneducated politicians may not have learned some

of the knowledge that should be learned when learning law but they still have enough

space to learn considering their positive attributes. At least they are still able to dream

of serving others as a senator because, more than being smart, what we are looking
for in a leader is honesty, humility, love of country, and the desire to serve without

asking for anything in return. Character is the most important factor, not the

achievements, but how one is as a person.

In conclusion, having a degree in law as a prerequisite in having a degree in

law is as a prerequisite to be elected as Senate is far more constructive for the people

than not having a degree in law. Having a degree in law means more knowledge about

it and gives the intellect needed for the job. Educational attainment allows the people

to be more confident with their knowledge which gives them the opportunity to help

our society to thrive. There is nothing wrong with the present qualifications but they

could have made it a lot better. This country will never be progressive and produce

brilliant minds if the government will not protect the future of the nation by cementing

that qualification for at least being a college graduate.
