2. SF6 Multi-Analyser - Overview

Depending on the version the battery-operated SF6 Multi-Analyser is equipped with the following main
components:

 a measuring module with a SF6 volume percentage sensor for determination of the SF6 concentration
 a moisture sensor for determination of the moisture content
 a SO2 sensor module for the determination of the SO2 concentration
as an indicator for the total concentration of decomposition products
(or optionally: SO2/HF module or SO2/HF/CO/H2S module).

The standard version of the SF6 volume percentage sensor is calibrated to a SF6/N2 or SF6/air mixture and
measures the SF6 content in volume percent in such gas mixture. The SF6 volume percentage sensor
works independently of air pressure and installation position.

The moisture sensor measures the dew point temperature of the SF6 gas in °C dew point at inlet pressure.
The measuring value of the dew point in °C can automatically be indicated or converted into all established
indicating units in case of a modified setting. Measuring the dew point at inlet pressure, a higher accuracy
of the measurement is achieved with a reduced measuring time. The dew point at ambient pressure is
calculated based on this value.

With the SO2 sensor module for determining the SO2 concentration, it is possible to draw conclusions
regarding the total concentration of decomposition products. The SO2 value is used as an indicator for
the total concentration and the respective ratio is approx. 1:4 (see Cigré “SF6-Recycling guide” page 49).
Additionally to a SO2 sensor the following modules are available as option: SO2/HF module or
SO2/HF/CO/H2S module: The lifetime of the integrated electrochemical sensors is two years. During the
operation of the device the residual lifetime of the electrochemical (SO2/HF/H2S/CO) sensors is indicated
so that the sensor can be exchanged without any problems.

The modular construction of the SF6 Multi Analyser enables to replace each single measuring gas module
for verification, calibration and exchange. In principle, it is also possible to measure with only one
measuring module.

For further versions of the SF6 Multi-Analyser please see the latest leaflet.

In addition to the individual sensor modules the SF6 Multi-Analyser is provided with a gas return system
consisting of the following components, a compressor, an internal gas storage vessel allowing to store at
least two measurements, a control unit, a 7“ capacitive touch screen, a high-performance battery.

It is also possible to work with the device in charging mode or in mains operation. (The battery is charged
in parallel to the mains operation).
The operating pressure of the connected SF6 filled equipment or SF6 vessel (cylinder or container) is
registered at the inlet of the device by means of the pressure sensor. The internal gas flow will be
monitored and controlled by pressure sensors, proportional valves and solenoid valves.
The control menu can be operated intuitively by the adjustable user languages (DE, GB, FR, ES, IT, PT,
CZ, PL, RUS, CN, JPN).

3-038R-R… | SF6 Multi-Analyser

Rinsing the measuring hose before each measuring process guarantees precise and correct results for
subsequent measurements.
The final value of a measurement is recognised automatically. The measurement can be named
individually and saving the measuring data under a data and time stamp avoids overwriting of
measurements with same name. Results of up to 500 measurements can be saved with the SF6 Multi-
Analyser. This data can be read out and processed easily via the USB interface.

All SF6 Multi-Analyser components are integrated in a compact and lightweight plastic case for comfortable
transportation.
The user and maintenance-friendly device allows different kinds of measurements and treatment of the
measuring gas:

 Internal storage of the measuring gas and pumping the gas back to the gas compartment
(up to 10 bar pe) after the measurement.
 For measurements in cylinders, vessels or gas compartments with a higher pressure (max.
inlet pressure 35 pe) or if the measuring gas should not be pumped back into the unit, it is
possible to connect a cylinder directly at the outlet (max. 10 bar pe). For this purpose, a
pressure reducer is not necessary and a separation of the device from the gas cylinder or
the gas compartment is not required.
 Connecting an external measuring gas collecting bag allows continuous measurements
(inlet pressure max. 35 pe) without pumping the gas back. The external bag is emptied via
the SF6 Multi-Analyser or by connecting a service cart or compressor unit.

For all kinds of measurements no SF6 gas is released into the atmosphere.

3. Functional description

For the determination of the SF6 quality the following parameters can be measured with the
SF6 Multi Analyser in its maximum version:

 SF6 volume percentage

 Humidity in the gas
 SO2 decomposition products as indicator for decomposition products
 OPTION: HF decomposition products
 OPTION: HF / CO / H2S decomposition products

The measuring principles of the individual components are described in the following sections.

3.1 Function of the SF6 volume percentage sensor

The measuring principle is based on the evaluation of the different velocities of sound in gases. The
velocity of sound in air is normally about 330 m/s, while in pure SF6 gas it is only about 130 m/s. The
velocity of sound measured in the measuring cell is temperature compensated and converted into SF6
volume percent by means of a microprocessor.
The measuring results are transmitted to the host computer.

3.2 Function of the humidity sensor

The humidity sensor is based on the absorption of water molecules in a special ceramic substrate acting
as dielectric in a capacitor. This changes the capacitance of the capacitor which is recorded by the
electronic evaluation system and converted into a standard signal. This signal is forwarded to the main
computer.

3.3 Function of the SO2 sensor and HF sensor

These sensors are based on the electrochemical measuring principle and consist of three gold-plated
electrodes and a water-based acidic electrolyte. The structure of the sensors is the same for both SO2
and HF, but different electrolytes are used and the reactions to determine the concentrations vary:

Electrochemical sensors:
The change in current generated by the released electrons is recorded by the electronic evaluation
system including temperature compensation and calibration in that area and converted into a standard
signal. This signal is forwarded to the main computer and converted into ppmv value. The sensors have a
lifetime of two (2) years.

The CO and H2S sensors are identical to the SO2 and HF sensors with the
difference that other electrolytes are used for CO and H2S sensors which are
adjusted to the substance to be measured.

www.dilo-gmbh.com | C 4436-00 |Page 14 / 57

3-038R-R… | SF6 Multi-Analyser

SO2-Sensor:

The SF6 filled-in diffuses into the SO2 sensor and reacts on the measuring electrode in an oxidative process
according to the equation below:

Equation 1: measuring process

Sulphur dioxide (SO2): SO2 + 2H2O = H2SO4 + 2H+ + 2e-

The counter electrode tries to keep the occurring reaction at equilibrium by means of an oxygen
reduction producing water.

Equation 2: counter reaction:

Oxygen reduction: ½ O2 + 2H+ + 2e- = H2O

Overall reaction in the measuring cell:

SO2 + ½ O2 + H2O = H2SO4

If the SF6 gas to be examined contains SO2, electrons are released according to equation 1 by shifting
the electrochemical equilibrium.

HF sensor:

The SF6-filled in diffuses into the HF sensor and in the case that HF is contained, a PH reduction takes
place in an electro-catalytic reduction. By means of the following CL2 reaction and subsequent redox
reaction, electrons are released.

On the sensor block symbol the residual lifetime of the electrochemical sensor (SO2; optionally: HF,
CO, H2S) is indicated in days.

90 days before the expiry date a warning message indicates the end of the
lifetime allowing sufficient time to provide a new sensor. After expiry of the
lifetime, which is also displayed, the electrochemical sensor(s) is/are still fully
functional, but the sensors should be replaced by a re-calibrated sensors as
soon as possible since the measured values might not fulfil the specifications
any more and might cause functional failure.

4.2.3 Measurement

For starting a measurement, the “measurement” function has to be selected in the function selection
(see page 18). The corresponding symbol is then displayed in the function bar and highlighted in green;
the start/stop key in the function bar is no longer blocked and the integrated sensors are shown on the
display again. The selected “measurement” function is displayed additionally and the selected gas path
is highlighted in green (see below picture).

Screen of the SF6 Multi-Analyser illustrating the ‘Measurement’ function

With the key, the set limit values can be viewed at any time.
In the standard setting, the internal depressurized storage vessel (storage capacity of at least 2
measurements, depending on the duration of measurement) is selected for storing the measuring gas.

The desired depressurized storage vessel is highlighted in green .

If the measuring gas is to be collected in an externally connected, depressurized storage vessel, the
latter can be easily selected with a click. In this case, the external storage vessel appears in green and
the gas path has changed correspondingly. (For switching from the external to the internal storage tank,
you must click on the internal storage vessel.)

Ensure that, in the event the external storage tank has been selected, the latter
is connected to the outlet coupling 103.
If the external vessel has been selected but not connected or if it is already filled,
a started measurement is automatically switched off due to the overpressure in
the device.
If the internal vessel is selected and, additionally, an external depressurized
vessel is connected, both vessels are filled during measurement.

Upon selection of the “measurement” function and the storage tank, the measurement is started by
actuating the start/stop key. The status changes from “stop” to “run”, the colour of the start/stop key
changes to green and the function selection key highlighted in green lights up in green/grey. Below the
suitcase, the action currently carried out is displayed and the connected measuring gas hose is rinsed
automatically before the actual measurement.

www.dilo-gmbh.com | C 4436-00 | Page 33 / 57

3-038R-R… | SF6 Multi-Analyser

The timely process of the hose rinsing has been selected in a way that even with two
connected hoses (max. 12 m) the gas inside the hoses is rinsed out.

The timely sequence of this procedure and the measurement itself is represented in a bar graph within
the device. After a period of approx. 20 s/min, the current measuring values are displayed and can be
followed up during the measurement.

If the current values are out of the adjusted limits (See settings page 28), the according
value will be marked with a warning sign left beside (See figure page 33) during and
after the measurement.

In addition to the measuring value indication on the right side of the display a window opens after 20
seconds with a larger indication of the measuring values (see picture below).

(Indication of the measuring progress and the measuring value during measurement)

In addition to the measuring values this window displays the measuring time and a bar diagram showing
the degree of stabilisation of the moisture measurement. An algorithm stored in the program evaluates
the measured humidity value and after having reached a stable final value the measurement is defined
as completed. It is also possible to individualise the measurement with an “ID” name (name of the
examined gas compartment, cylinder or container), the “Type“ of the vessel (type of gas compartment,
cylinder or container) and notes (text field, comment). To enter a text press the fields on the right next
to the designations and a keyboard opens. With the “Archive of measuring data“ key it can be referred to
data already saved at any time. At the end of the measurement the status changes from “Run“ to “End“,
the background colour of the start/stop key changes to blue and the function selection key lights up
in blue/grey. The end of the measurement or function is confirmed by pressing the key or be
pressing the blue bar with the “Function completed” message. Finally it is possible to save the measuring
value under the name previously entered (type and comments) by pressing the blue blinking
“Save as…”-key above the “Archive of measuring data” key. After storage the “save data” key
disappears and the position in the storage is displayed at the top left of the window. The window can be
closed (also during measurement) with the “X“ key and opened with the key (display of measuring
data & storage) in the toolbar at the bottom (see page 18).

www.dilo-gmbh.com | C 4436-00 | Page 34 / 57

3-038R-R… | SF6 Multi-Analyser

The data will be stored with the date/time stamp. Overwriting data with the same name or
without name is impossible in this respect.

The maximum storage capacity is 500 Measurements. After saving data of 500
measurements, a warning message indicates that the maximum capacity has been
reached. It is not possible to save the data of further measurements (after the
following measurement the save key will not be shown) until old data has been
deleted.

Precondition: The SF6 Multi-Analyser is equipped with a SO2 sensor.

If the measured gas contained SO2, the measuring chamber of the SO2 sensor is
rinsed until a value of < 1 ppmv is reached, but max. 5 minutes. The process is
displayed in the status indication.

If the automatic function is not selected (see chapter 4.2.5), the gas used for the measurement remains
in the selected depressurized vessel. After the measurement, the measuring gas utilized can be
pumped back manually either into the gas compartment (connection 101) or into another vessel
(connection 102), up to a pressure of 10 bar pa (see chapter 4.2.4).

In the internal depressurized vessel of the SF6 Multi-Analyser, it is

possible to store at least the gas of two measurements, depending
on the respective measurement duration. If the maximum filling
level is reached, any ongoing measurement will be interrupted
automatically.

In the event that the automatic function is switched on, for each setting (see chapter 4.2.5) the
intermediate stored measuring gas is automatically pumped back into the gas compartment (connection
101) after the termination of the measurement or back into a vessel connected to connection 102. Here,
the maximum pressure of 10 bar pa is to be observed.

If the pressure at the connections 101 and/or 102 exceeds the

maximum admissible pressure of 10 bar pa when pumping back,
the process is cancelled and an error is displayed.

www.dilo-gmbh.com | C 4436-00 | Page 35 / 57

3-038R-R… | SF6 Multi-Analyser

4.2.4 Manual pumping back

If, during the measurement, the automatic operation key has not been activated, the gas used for
the measurement remains in the internal storage vessel and/or in the connected depressurized storage
vessel (connection 103) in the event that the latter was connected during the measurement.
For manually pumping back the measuring gas, there is an option of pumping the gas either directly
back into the gas compartment (connection 101) or into a tank connected to connection 102.
With both options, the maximum admissible overall pressure of 10 bar pe is to be observed.
In order to carry out the functions, after pressing the function selection key (figure 3), the corresponding
back pumping option is to be selected. The corresponding gas path is displayed in green. By pressing
the key, the gas is pumped back into the gas compartment connected to connection 101, by
pressing the key, the gas is pumped back into a tank connected to connection 102.
The tank to be emptied has to be selected additionally, either the internal vessel or a depressurized tank
connected to connection 103. The selection is made by clicking on the vessel on the screen. The
selected vessel appears in green colour.

If the internal storage vessel has been selected for emptying and if, at the same time a
depressurized storage vessel is connected to connection 103, both storage tanks are
emptied when pumping back. If the external storage vessel has been selected, only this
tank is emptied when pumping back.

After selecting the function it can be started with the start/stop key. During the function, the function
selection key lights up in green and the start/stop key appears in green.
The function stops automatically if the selected storage tank has been completely emptied. The colour of
the function selection and start/stop key changes to blue at the end of the process. The function will be
completed by pressing the start/stop key.

4.2.5 Handling the measuring gas and automatic function

Besides the normal measurement (chapter 4.2.3) where the measuring gas remains in the internal
storage vessel after the measurement and subsequently has to be pumped back manually (chapter
4.2.4), it is also possible to operate the SF6 Multi-Analyser in automatic mode. Two versions of automatic
operation are possible:

1. Carrying out a measurement with automatic pumping back of the measuring gas into the gas
compartment (connection 101) after the measurement.

2. Carrying out a measurement with automatic pumping back of the measuring gas into a vessel
connected to connection 102

The automatic mode can only be activated if “measurement” has been selected in the function
selection before.

With the automatic operation key the corresponding automatic function can be selected.

www.dilo-gmbh.com | C 4436-00 | Page 36 / 57

3-038R-R… | SF6 Multi-Analyser

(Selection of the automatic function)

In accordance with the selection, the gas path is displayed on the screen and the activation of the

function is indicated by the green background colour of the automatic operation key. The
measurement can now be started with the start/stop key. After the measurement, according to the
selection, the gas used for the measurement is pumped back automatically into the gas compartment
(connection 101) or into a vessel connected to connection 102. Observe the maximum pressure of 10
bar pa.

If the pressure at the 101 and/or 102 connections exceeds the

maximum admissible pressure of 10 bar pa when pumping
back, the process is interrupted and an error message is
displayed.

When activating the automatic function, the device can be used in continuous operation.
For this purpose, please refer to chapter 4.2.6.

www.dilo-gmbh.com | C 4436-00 | Page 37 / 57

3-038R-R… | SF6 Multi-Analyser

4.2.6 Continuous operation

For monitoring the gas quality over a longer period of time, it is possible to operate the SF6 Multi-
Analyser in “continuous operation”. Precondition for continuous operation is that the measurement

function key has been pressed in the function selection menu and that the automatic operation
has been activated.

It is recommended connecting a separate vessel to connection

102 for the continuous measurement and selecting the pumping
back into this vessel function (connection 102). In the event of an
active continuous measurement and pumping back into the gas
compartment (connection 101), the same gas would be
continuously measured and pumped back. A modification in the
gas quality could not be observed here.

The setting options of continuous operation can be accessed via the “continuous operation” key.

(Setting of continuous operation)

It is possible to activate continuous operation via the on/off key. Once the continuous operation has
been activated (on/off key is highlighted in green and the time input is no longer blocked), the time period
between the measurements can be set. After pressing the time input key, a keyboard
appears which enables setting the interval between measurements within a range of 15 minutes to 200
hours. In the main menu, the continuous measurement can be started via the start/stop key. The
number of measuring cycles implemented is indicated on the continuous operation key. (See page 39).

www.dilo-gmbh.com | C 4436-00 | Page 38 / 57

3-038R-R… | SF6 Multi-Analyser

Display of measuring cycles (here: 1 measurement)

The function key as well as the start/stop key are highlighted in yellow between the measurements (in
waiting status) in order to display the waiting status. The continuous measurement can be stopped
manually via the start/stop key at any time.
After the measuring process the measuring data of each measurement are automatically saved under an
additional consecutive number or if a name has been created prior to the measurement it is stored under
this name with an additional consecutive number.

When preparing the continuous measurement observe the maximum

number of 500 measurements, which can be saved! After having
reached the maximum number of measurements the continuous
measurement will be interrupted.

The vessel for storing the measuring gas at the connection 102
should correspond to the expected number of measurements. Once
the maximum admissible pressure of 10 bar abs is reached, the
measurement is interrupted automatically.

www.dilo-gmbh.com | C 4436-00 | Page 39 / 57

3-038R-R… | SF6 Multi-Analyser

4.2.7 Data saving

It is possible to allocate a name during the storage of a measurement at any time:

either
- before starting a measurement. The corresponding entry field (see page 29) can be opened by

pressing the measurement key (see page 18).

Or
- during the measurement. The indication of the entry field appears automatically approx. 20 s after
starting the measurement.
Or
- after completion of the measurement prior to the storage.

As already described in the measuring process it is possible to save the measurement with an ‘ID’ name
(Name of the verified gas compartment, cylinder or container), with the ‘type’ of the vessel (type of gas
compartment, cylinder or container). It is also possible to enter notes via the key (text field, comment).
To enter the text press a field on the right next to the designation and the keyboard opens.
The measuring data are saved after measurement by pressing the key above the archive of the
measuring data key. After having saved the data the key disappears and the position in the
storage is indicated top left of the window.

After having saved the measuring data it is not possible to edit inputs.

The data are stored under a date/time stamp. Overwriting of data with the same name
or without name is not possible.

The maximum storage capacity is 500 Measurements. After saving data of 500
measurements, a warning message indicates that the maximum capacity has been
reached. It is not possible to save the data of further measurements (after the following
measurement the save key will not be shown) until old data has been deleted so that new
measurements can be stored.

www.dilo-gmbh.com | C 4436-00 | Page 40 / 57

3-038R-R… | SF6 Multi-Analyser

4.2.8 Transmission of measuring data

The transmission of the measuring data as CSV file (comma separated values) to a storage medium

connected to an USB connection - (see page 17) can be carried out via the archive of measuring

data key on the settings page.

Before exporting the data the desired units and decimal separators for the data fields should be set and
verified. The selected decimal separators should correspond to the settings in the processing program. A
comma as decimal separator and a semicolon are pre-set as CSV separator (separation of the data
fields). Alternatively it is possible to choose a point as decimal separator and a comma a CSV separator
(See page 22).

For the transmission of the measuring data as CSV file press the export key and the following
window opens:

The memory location can be selected and the file name can be edited here. It is either possible to save
the CSV file on a storage device connected to the USB connection or on an internal memory (access is
possible via FTP server). The selected memory location is highlighted in orange. When pressing the “file
name” field a keyboard opens to edit the proposed file name.
The file is saved/exported by pressing the key.

When exporting the CSV file to the storage medium make sure that it is connected to the USB
connection. Otherwise the export is interrupted and the “Writing error CSV file“ message
appears after pressing the key.

4.2.9 Switching off the SF6 Multi-Analyser

For switching off the SF6 Multi-Analyser press the ON/OFF key at the orange housing (see page 17) until
the indication on the display extinguishes.

4.3 Special functions

The special functions are selected analogous to the measurement via the function selection key (see
page 18). After having selected the special function the following menu opens:

(Submenu – Special functions)

The individual special functions can be chosen and started or stopped by pressing the start/stop
key. The following special functions can be carried out:

Recovery of the device

This special function has to be carried out if there is contaminated SF6 gas inside the device. In order to
avoid malfunction or damage to the SF6 Multi-Analyser the contaminated SF6 can be recovered by
connecting a service cart or an external compressor unit to the 101 connection. When selecting this
function the corresponding internal valves of the SF6-Multi-Analyser are switched so that the complete
internal gas volume can be recovered after pressing the key and with the external recovery unit
being switched on.
The recovered gas should be stored in suitable vessel according to its gas quality (vessels for new or
reuse gas). It is absolutely necessary to avoid emissions due to the high GWP value of SF6 and
toxicity! After completion of the recovery process the function has to be stopped manually be pressing
the key.

Evacuation of the device

If there is air in the device after having measured nitrogen/air or after working on the device and SF6
should be measured the air has to be evacuated from the device in order to reach corresponding
measuring values and to avoid contamination of SF6 with air. The air/nitrogen can be evacuated by
connecting a service cart or an external vacuum pump to the 101 connection. When selecting this
function the corresponding internal valves of the SF6 Multi-Analyser are switched so that the complete
internal gas volume is evacuated after pressing the key and with external evacuation device being
switched on (vacuum pump or service cart).

www.dilo-gmbh.com | C 4436-00 | Page 42 / 57

3-038R-R… | SF6 Multi-Analyser

The recovered air/nitrogen can be released into the atmosphere without hesitation. After completion of
the evacuation process the function has to be stopped manually by pressing the key.

Pressure test of the compressor

This function allows to monitor the operation of the compressor. This pressure test should especially be
carried out if long times for pumping the measuring gas are observed. After having selected this special
function and pressing the key the compressor starts running and an internal pressure is generated.
In accordance with the max. pressure and the time required for generating the pressure the result of this
verification is displayed. In case the max. pressure and the required time do not correspond to the
specification the device should be sent to the manufacturer for verification of the compressor.

Rinsing the measuring hose

The measuring hose is rinsed automatically prior to each measurement. If it is necessary to rinse the
measuring hose for other reason this function can be carried out by this special function. After the
connection of the measuring hose and activation of the special function by pressing the key the
hoses are rinsed automatically.
However, the time sequence is selected so that the gas in the hoses are rinsed even with two connected
hose (max. 12m). The function stops automatically and the end of the rinsing process has to be
confirmed with the key.

Rinsing the SO2 sensor

(Provided that the SF6 Multi-Analyser is equipped with a SO2 sensor)
If SO2 has been detected in the SF6 gas to be examined the measuring cell of the SO2 sensor is rinsed
automatically after the measurement. The rinsing process runs until the SO2 value is lower than <1 ppmv
or for a maximum of 5 minutes. If this process is necessary e. g. the SO2 concentration was too high or
the concentration value is still > 1 ppmv after a rinsing time of 5 minutes it is possible to start this function
manually. For this purpose start the corresponding “Rinsing SO2 sensor“ special function by pressing the
key. Analogous to the automatic rinsing process the SO2 sensor is rinsed until a SO2 value <1ppmv
is reached or after a maximum of 5 minutes. Finally confirm the automatically stopped process with the
key.

Internal drying
The “Internal drying“ special function allows to dry the SF6 gas in the piping of the SF6 Multi-Analyser
(e.g. after a longer shutdown of the device or if humid SF6 gas has been measured previously). Due to
the low initial value of the humidity measurement the measurement of dry SF6 gas can be simplified and
multiple measurements on the SF6 gas compartment or SF6 cylinder/container are thus avoided. The
“Internal drying” special function is started with the key and stopped automatically after a maximum
running time of 5 minutes. The moisture value is displayed during the drying process (e. g. after reaching
the desired value) and it is possible to interrupt the drying function by pressing the key at any time.
After a maximum drying time of 5 minutes the end of the function has to be confirmed with the key.
However, the drying process can be restarted, if necessary.

4.4 Charging the battery

The SF6 Multi-Analyser is equipped with a 4.3 AH ion battery, which enables at least 5 measurements
with pumping back. The battery is charged via an integrated electronic charging system which enables a
simultaneous charging and line operation of the device with 85 – 264 VAC, 47 – 63 Hz. The charging
status is displayed in the top right corner on the display (see page 18) and via the LED in the bottom left
corner in the orange housing (see page 17).
The following status are displayed via the LED:

The battery charging status is continuously monitored during the operation of the SF6 Multi-Analyser and,
in order to avoid deep discharging and thus damage of the battery, the device is shuts down
automatically after a prior warning message if a defined voltage is undercut.

Attention! Danger for material assets!

In order to avoid a deep discharge of the installed battery and therefor a damage
of it, it is recommended to charge the battery after a period of 6 months latest,
this is advised if the SF6-Multi-Analyser will be not used for a long period of
time. The recommended time interval will be shortened, if the device will be
placed into stock with a not fully charged battery. Therefore the battery should
be charged before a longer period of nonuse.

6.3 Purification

Only clean the device with a dry or slightly damp cloth.

Attention! Danger for material assets!

Do not use cleaning agents containing solvents, acid or bases.
Warning

6.4 Calibration

The SF6 Multi-Analyser is based on a modular construction and it is therefore possible to replace each
sensor / sensor module by a calibrated module / sensor (see chapter 6.2). For complying with the technical
specification it is recommended to calibrate the sensors every 2 years (under normal application). The
lifetime of the electrochemical sensors (SO2; optionally HF, CO, H2S) is two years and must be
replaced by recalibrated sensors after the date of expiry independent of the use.
The scope of supply of the SF6 Multi-Analyser as well as of the replacement modules includes a certificate
guaranteeing the traceability to the corresponding standards.
