INTERPRETATION

FOOD STORAGE

57% of Sitio Ormocan households has refrigerator as their food storage that means they can store the
food for the longer time. On the other hand, there is 16% households prefer not to use any form of food
storage instead the family finish the food in a day. While there are 14% households use Tupperware as
their form of their food storage. Lastly there are 13% families use ice box/cooler instead of refrigerator
to lessen the electricity bill and also help their food last longer.

COOKING FACILITY

Majority of Sitio Ormocan households use wood and charcoal as their cooking facility which composed
of 52%, the family utilizes the natural resources available around them for them to save money. For the
gas stove, there is a 41% as their cooking facility even buying a gas stove may cost expensive, they still
prefer to use gas stove since it is more convenient and easier in cooking. Lastly, there is 7% families who
uses electric stove to save place in their house and it is convenient for the family.

CLEANING FACILITIES

Even the Sitio has a deep well for their source of water, there are some families with the percentage of
38% who has faucet with running water and sink. The family stated that they prefer to have faucet for
the easy access for the water. There is a 32% families utilizes the availability of open pit as their cleaning
facilities and there Is a 30% household practices pail with water and sink as their cleaning facilities.

OWNERSHIP OF THE WATER

Out of the 34 families in the Sitio Ormocan, there is 74% households that there water is owned by the
public, on the other hand, only 26% households are owned by their family.

*I don’t know the difference between public and owned*

WATER FOR GENERAL USE

74% of the household are getting their water from the deep well near their house in order to save from
the water bill and also, they utilize the availability of the natural resources. For the NAWASA/LWUA,
there is 26% of the families prefer to use this type of water.

DRINKING WATER SUPPLY

57% of the family from Sitio Ormocan prefers to consume water from the deep well, the family stated
that it is safe to drink it. There is also family drink water directly from NAWASA/ LWUA since it is potable
water and there is only 20% who buy mineral water as their drinking water supply because they believe
it is safer to consume it. Lastly, there is no family who drinks water from the artesian well.

PERCEIVED POTABILITY OF THE WATER SOURCE

In the Sitio Ormocan, there is 76% households claimed that their water source is potable while 24%
households stated that their water source is not potable.

FAMILY PLANNING

Upon conducting a survey on couples of families at Sitio Ormocan, 48% of the females are practicing
taking pills as a contraceptive method. 14% of the couples are not practicing family planning. 14% of the
women are under injectables as their contraceptive method. As for the implant, there is 10% women
who had undergone this contraceptive. 7% of the females had tubal ligation. Lastly, 4% uses rhythm as a
form of contraceptive method. 3% is practicing withdrawal method.

DENTAL STATUS

Majority of the population from Sitio Ormocan which is 76% doesn’t visit the dentist for consultations.
Next to the great percentage which has a 17% population with dentures. 5% of the population is
wearing braces and lastly, only 2% of the population is with fillings or also known as pasta.

DENTAL CONDITIONS

54% of the populations has incomplete dental condition which means many are suffered from tooth
problems like dental caries or tooth extraction that led them to have incomplete dental condition. On
the other hand, 46% population has complete dental condition which signifies the person practices good
oral hygiene.

HISTORY OF PRESENT ILLNESS

According to the graph shown above, the highest number of present illness is colds and cough with the
percentage of 25%, second is hypertension 17%, third is diabetes with the percentage of 9%, and the
three diseases has the same percentage of 8% which are palpitations, eye problem and pneumonia.

According to F.P. Cuevas, Public health Nursing in the Philippines, 10th ed., Morbidity statistics in 2002
showed that hypertension and diseases of the heart are among the top ten leading causes of illnesses in
the country that were related to physical inactivity, smoking and obesity.
