For this lesson, I am incorporating the students everyday life with technology. This will be a fun way to get the students engaged with getting to know one another, and getting to know technology and the ways they can use it. It allows for the students to have freedom, and can see each other’s timelines. Lesson idea implementation: To introduce the lesson, I will ask my students to tell me about their favorite parts of their day. From there we will have a small discussion about some of the students day to day life and if they have any type of routine. I will then show them my Padlet that I have created to show them what my days look like throughout the week. I will do a quick tutorial on how they use Padlet, how to add events to your day, and how to look up pictures to add to your event. Once this is done, I will ask the students to write on a piece of paper what their days look like. When that is finished, the students will then move to the computer. They will create their timelines on what a day in their life looks like. This is a lesson I created to get to know my students (a lesson to do at the beginning of the year with your students). Reflective Practice: A great way to further extend this lesson would be to post it to the classroom blog. It would allow the parents to get to know the classroom as well as one another’s students. The teacher could also print off of the students timeline’s and have students pair up with one another to talk about their daily timelines. This would allow the students to get to know one another and see if they have any connections throughout their days.
