Ch, sc, hdc, dc, rsc.

Directions:
Triangle side – left:

Row 1: 56 ch, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in each ch till end, 1 ch, turn (55 sc).
Rows 2-3: (1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc) in 1st st, skip 2 sts, *(1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc) in next st, skip 2 sts;
repeat from * till end, finish with only 1 sc in last st, 1 ch, turn (18 half-fans).
Row 4: (1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc) in 1st st, skip 2 sts, *(1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc) in next st, skip 2 sts;
repeat from * 15 more times, finish with only 1 sc in next st, 1 ch, turn (17
half-fans, you will have one less half-fan at the end of this row).
Row 5: (1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc) in 1st st, skip 2 sts, *(1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc) in next st, skip 2 sts;
repeat from * till end, finish with only 1 sc in last st, 1 ch, turn.

Note: Work each odd row as you do row 5. By removing 1 half-fan in each even row you
are getting a staircase effect on one side of the triangle, which you will fill with
fans at the end.

Row 36: (1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc) in 1st st, skip 2 sts, 1 sc in next st, 1 ch, turn (1 half-fan).
Row 37: repeat row 36. Finish off and weave in ends.

Filling in the spaces on one side of the triangle:

With your work facing RS (odd rows are facing you), put your hook at the top of the first
space like shown on picture 1 below. Pull up your thread through and work like this: 1ch,
1 sc in the same stitch, *3 dc in the space (shown with arrow), 1 sc in next top; repeat
from * till end, fasten of and secure ends (17 fans).

Picture 1

Triangle side – right:

Row 1: 56 ch, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in each ch till end, 1 ch, turn (55 sc).
Rows 2-3: (1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc) in 1st st, skip 2 sts, *(1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc) in next st, skip 2 sts;
repeat from * till end, finish with only 1 sc in last st, 1 ch, turn (18 half-fans).
Row 4: sl st in 1st 4 sts (till you reach the next sc), 1ch, (1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc) in 1st st, skip 2
sts, *(1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc) in next st, skip 2 sts; repeat from * till end, finish with
only 1 sc in last st, 1 ch, turn (17 half-fans).
Row 5: (1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc) in 1st st, skip 2 sts, *(1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc) in next st, skip 2 sts;
repeat from * till end, finish with only 1 sc in last st, 1 ch, turn.
Note: Repeat rows 4 and 5 decreasing your work by 1 half-fan till you reach the last row
37th (like on the previous triangle). Do not finish off! Start filling spaces from
the point you finished this triangle like it was described for the previous
triangle.

Stripe between triangles:

Row 1: 185 ch, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch till end, 1 ch, turn (184 sc).
Rows 2-11: 1 sc in 1st st, 1 sc in each sc till end, 1 ch, turn.
Row 12: 1 sc in 1st st, 1 sc in next 127 st, 1 ch, turn (128 sc).
Row 13: 1 sc in 1st st, 1 sc in next 127 st, 1 ch, turn.

3
Row 14: 1 sc in 1st st, 1 sc in next 127 st, 55 ch, skip next 55 st from row 11, 1 dc in last
st, 1 ch, turn.
Row 15: 1 sc in 1st st, 1 sc in next 55 ch, 1 sc in next 128 sc, 1 ch, turn.
Rows 16-25: 1 sc in 1st st, 1 sc in each st till end. Fasten off and secure ends.
Note: Work rsc around the zipper hole.

Flap:

Row 1: 8 ch, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc till end, 1 ch, turn (7 sc).
Row 2-3: 1 sc in 1st st, 1 sc in each st till end. Don’t finish off your work, just do reverse
sc all around. Fasten off and secure ends.

Handles (make 2):

Note: The best way to fill your handles with fiberfill is if you do that whenever you
finish about an inch of a handle. So use small chunks of fiberfill and push them inside
with the back of your hook.

-Leaving about 10 inches tail, work: 10 ch, sl st in 1st ch to form a ring, 1 ch, sc in same
ch, sc in each ch around, do not connect to 1st sc (10 sc), but continue working around.
Crochet about 107 rounds. Finish off and leave about the same tale as at the beginning.
You will use both tales to sew your handles on your bag. Handles are about 31cm (12.2”)
long.

Where to attach handles

4
Lining of the bag:
-Make 2 triangle parts and for the stripe between them cut 3 pieces of fabric by
measuring the sides of a triangle. Sew all the parts together and insert a zipper like shown
on the picture bellow. For a better security of the lining you may carefully sew lining to
each triangle side by hand and also the zipper part to the space you crocheted on the
stripe.

Picture 3

Connecting:
-First attach the flap just bellow the zipper hole as well as handles. After the lining is
carefully attached to the bag around the zipper part you need to connect the whole bag
together. It is done in one swoop with the reverse sc. Start at the top of the left triangle.
Put your hook through the top of the left triangle and the top of the stripe, pull up a loop,
work 1 ch and start doing the rs all around the triangle when you reach the same top, then
carefully connect the beginning and the end of the stripe over the zipper and go down the
side of the right triangle. Finish off and secure ends. Picture 4 shows that you need to
start at point 1, work to point 2 and so on, like connecting the dots.
