Dear GAFCS Friend:

“I remember my first FCCLA State Leadership Conference and the shivers that went down my spine when I
later stood on that stage and heard: ‘Earning Gold and heading to National Leadership Conference…Tucker Middle
School!’ At that moment I decided that I absolutely love FCCLA and wanted one day to be a state officer! FCCLA
showed me what it means to dream. By giving me opportunities to talk to State representatives, business
professionals and local board of education members, it has allowed me to understand and discover what I hope to
one day do - work advocating for Refugee Rights. Simply put, I would not be the person I am today without FCCLA!”
Sumitra Dhakal, FCCLA First VP 2018-19.
Students like Sumitra are the future of FACS. Having them devoted to our field is the key for FACS’s future
success. Supporting exceptional FACS students is the premise of our 5 for 5 Initiative. We hope to raise scholarship
funds for the next five years.
