Why It Is An International Project: Involvement Companies of Different Countries
Two different countries stakeholders (Japan And India) are involved in this joint venture. Maruti
udyog Limited is an Indian company and Suzuki Motor Corporation is a Japan based Company. They are
subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation. Maruti Suzuki is a joint venture between Maruti Udyog
India Limited and Suzuki Motor of Japan which happened in October 1982 under the supervision
of Indian Government. There are list of different factors which makes a project an international:
This project is related to the automobile industry. Indian automobile industry is one of the
biggest industries in the world and also growing rapidly worldwide.
Maruti Suzuki is a joint venture between Maruti Udyog India Limited and Suzuki Motor
of Japan which happened in February 1981under the supervision of Indian Government.
The company’s headquarters are situated at Gurgaon, New Delhi. The Maruti Suzuki
accounts for over 40% share in the Indian car market.
Maruti Suzuki overall shares are shared well among the Indian government and Suzuki of
Japan with the former getting 18.28% and the latter receiving 54.2% of the total market.
Maruti Suzuki is a number one automobile manufacturer in India and holds a top position
in the market for its highest sales and the revenue it generates in comparison to its other
counterparts.
This strategic alliance was formed in order to bring about an automobile revolution in
India. It came into existence officially in 1983 with a launch of Maruti 800 which was
seen as a first modern car during those days in India that gave a strong competition to its
old rivals Hindustan Ambassador and Premier Padmini which were prevailent cars
makers during that era.
Maruti Suzuki models are sold in India and different countries over the world that
includes Pakistan and other South Asian countries. Maruti Suzuki has been rated as
number one among all the car companies India during the period of 1999-2009.
Scope
The scope of the Maruti Suzuki was to have a success ratio that would exceed those global
competitors. The company has been ruling the automobile industry in India past 28 years. The
scope of the project is to analyse the success factors behind the Maruti Suzuki joint venture in
India. To determine the scope of the project our team consider the project`s number of locations,
departments which were involved in project, System and technology used for the project. The
Scope of the project is to understand the international project management course entirely.
However the scope of we doing and why we choose this project is to understand the success
