THROUGH GAMES SERIES

D. OBJECTIVES:
1. Incorporate more games, innovative assessments and good attitude to
change the spirit of Math class

II. Narrative Report:

The teaching staff of Masile Elementary School organized a monthly SLAC together
with the School Head Mrs. Ma. Abegail C. Carangan. For the month of January the topic is
Learning Mathematics Through Games Series.

The program started with a prayer led by Mrs. Filomena R. Coronel, Grade 3 teacher,
followed by a community song pilipinasKong Mahal. Welcome remarks was done by the
resource speaker herself Mrs. Ma. Belina L. Cabantog due to the absence of the school head
in the afternoon for some urgent matters.

The session opened with Fun Ways to Teach Math, according to the speaker w can
make Mathematics fun for children by incorporating games and its role in daily life. Some tips
are by raising daily simple arithmetic problems or game puzzles and weekly Math games. Also
it is important that winners should be rewarded. Another is by creating exciting Math test,, this
is done by incorporating learners interest in the test.

Afterwhich, the speaker continued the session with the 7 Classroom Math Activities that
will Make Math Engaging and Fun. 1. Math Bingo, 2. Makea paper make clock 3. Guess the
weight 4. Hopscoth Math 5. Pizza Fraction 6. Lengthy Scavenger Hunt 7. Survey Graph.

The SLAC session was conducted to keep abreast the faculty with the latest trends and
best practices in teaching and learning in today’s dynamic education industry. The SLAC
session has not only provided the participants an opportunity to gain new skills and knowledge
but also to make positive changes around them. The participants also got an opportunity
to share their knowledge and experience with colleagues.

The SLAC ended with the awarding of certificates to the resource speaker and
participants.
