The document discusses criterion-referenced evaluation and norm-referenced evaluation in education. Criterion-referenced evaluation assesses student performance against specific learning objectives, while norm-referenced evaluation compares a student's performance to others in their peer group. The key difference is that criterion-referenced evaluation focuses on whether objectives are met rather than relative performance.

Describe pupil performance according to specific domain of clearly defending
test. Criterion referenced interpretation enable us to describe what individual can do with reference to others performance. Evaluation instrument- teacher made tests, published test and observable. In norm reference, evaluation the test is devised to spread pupils out so that accurate grading of their abilities might be facilitated.
NORM REFERENCED EVALUATION
Designed to provide measure of performance i.e. interpretive in terms of an
individual’s relative standing in some known group. Describes pupil’s performance according to relative person in come known group. For example e.g. rank tenth in classroom groups of 30.
