CRITERION REFERENCED EVALUATION

Describe pupil performance according to specific domain of clearly defending


test. Criterion referenced interpretation enable us to describe what individual
can do with reference to others performance. Evaluation instrument- teacher
made tests, published test and observable. In norm reference, evaluation the test
is devised to spread pupils out so that accurate grading of their abilities might be
facilitated.

NORM REFERENCED EVALUATION

Designed to provide measure of performance i.e. interpretive in terms of an


individual’s relative standing in some known group. Describes pupil’s
performance according to relative person in come known group. For example
e.g. rank tenth in classroom groups of 30. Its interpretation evaluation us to
determine how an individual performance compare with that of others. In
criterion referenced evaluation, a number of objectives of the course are set and
the pupils performance is compared with these targets, but not with the
performance of his classmates.
