Repetitive Manufacturing

Repetitive manufacturing is period based planning and not based on orders. Normally same
products will be manufactured over longer period of time. Products will not change frequently.
Confirmation is from back flushing and settlement is through from product cost collector for the
period. Confirmation will be without ref to planned orders. Planned orders are sufficient to carry
out shop floor activity. In master data production versions and cost collector is must where this is
not mandatory in discrete.

Purpose:

The products produced are not manufactured in individually defined lots. Instead, a total
quantity is produced over a certain period at a certain rate per part-period.

Routings tend to be simple and do not vary much.

Steps for REM Production

2. Master Data

a. Material Master using T-code MM01

b. BOM T-code CS01
c. Work center T-code CR01
d. Rate Routing T-code CA21

3. Maintain Production version using T-code MM02 (MRP 4 View)

4. Create Product cost controlling using T-code KKF6N

5. Planned independent requirement using T-code MD61

6. Run MRP using T-code MD02

2. Master Data
a. Creating Material Master using T-code MM01

Maintain selection method as 2, check repetitive manufacturing and maintain REM profile as

b. Creating Bill of Material using T-code CS01

c. Creating Work Center using T-code CR01

d. Creating Rate Routing using T-code CA21

SAP recommends using a rate routing in repetitive manufacturing process is because

normally during assembly backflush in transaction code MFBF, there is no configuration setting
or other control to choose the set of operation (Standard sequence or alternative sequence of
operation) which needs to posted for production confirmation.
