Each Sides
Acknowledgement:

In making this project, we would like to thank our family for the support
that they’ve given us, of our studies, dreams and ideas. To our beloved teachers that is
inspiring us to study hard and to learn the things that we need to learn. To Mrs. Guarin for
giving us knowledge in our English literature. And to Mr. Pinor, who’s also giving us support
on our Mathematics. And for giving us a chance to report our knowledge about Gender
Equality.

To our wonderful friends, who are there whenever we are feeling down.
And helping us with our problems. To ourselves for inspiring us to keep going in our lives. In
never giving up in our dreams and our lives, even our problems are hard. For being there
every wrong and right decisions.

To us, the powerful team that made this project possible. If they were not
here, this project wouldn’t exist. For giving a chance of sharing our knowledge to each other.
For helping and trusting one another even in hard times. For understanding each other in
difficult situations. And being thankful for working hard for this project.
To our Families, Friends and our Love Ones….

INTRODUCTION:

Not all LGBTQ+ agrees on President Rodrigo Duterte’s 3rd restrooms for the
solution to discrimination and Violence against Women, are some examples between gender
problems in our country.

Many people in our country sometimes doesn’t know where to limit

themselves, that’s why other people thinks about some negative outcomes in gender
equality. Like the 3rd bathroom issue. Many are scared, many are happy but some thinks that
it is not enough and that is why others ask for more and others sets their minds on the wrong
side. Violence against women can be also explained as one of the big mistakes of
discrimination.

And so that is why we choose gender equality. It is because, we want to learn

and to let people realize that gender equality is not all about helping each other, but to
understand each other’s sides. We choose this topic because, not just learning from it, but to
also apply it in our daily lives for better knowledge.

Review of Related Literature

The gender situation in the Philippines is characterized by sharp contradictions. It graphically

showcases samples of women’s advancement in politics, academic and professional
excellence, and even legislation. But this is contrasted by images of prostituted women,
battered wives, economically disadvantaged women and exploited migrant workers. (Carlos
Antonio Q. Anonuevo 2000)
Follow-up country study of the 2003 ILO global report "Time for equality at work". Discusses
the concept of equality at work as a basic human right and a basis for the promotion of Decent
Work for All from a general perspective, followed by an outline of the visions and perceptions
of the Philippine social partners and stakeholders. Discusses the equality focus on gender,
older workers, youth, migrants, indigenous peoples, etc., and issues of legislative,
administrative, facilitative and adjudicative interventions. (Gert A. Gust 2006)
The global goal to attain gender equality, including ending all forms of discrimination against
women and girls, and ensuring their safety, is central to the achievement of the Sustainable
Development Goals. Its attainment means that every person, regardless of sex, is empowered
to reach his or her full potential. This entails both men and women being given equal
opportunities to education, paid employment, and real decision-making power, whether in
the private or public sector. (Clarissa C. David, Jose Ramon G. Albert, Jana Flor V. Vizmanos
2018)
Based on an analysis of gender inequalities, strategies and promising initiatives to counter
gender discrimination and promote equality between men and women in Cambodia,
Kazakhstan, and the Philippines, as well as an inventory of global good legal, economic, and
social practices, this report summaries the findings and recommendations for the Philippines.
It shows how to improve equitable employment opportunities, remuneration, and treatment
for women and men at work to support the development of decent work and gender equality

Given that sexism is institutionalized in the labor market, an analysis of the informal sector
must necessarily entail a holistic examination of the situation of women. Women are the
principal victims of the casualization and flexibilization of labor. They are often relegated to
the informal sector and represent the majority of workers who are low paid and without job
security. The structure of contemporary patriarchal family continues to be defined by the
sexual division of labor within it. Women as house workers and… (Virginia A. Teodosio 2007)
