This utility model relates generally to food processing but more particularly to a
native place, we call it as Palaw. In the article of Englberger et al., (2004) the Giant

Detailed Description
Giant swamp taro (Cyrtosperma chamissonis) is the largest of the root crop plant
known collectively as Taro, which is also locally known as “palau”. In preparation of this utility
model, the following steps are considered: first peel the giant swamp taro corm and slice
thinly, secondly, sun-dry until well dried, third pulverize the dried giant swamp taro in the
rice grinder or a large mortar and pestle, lastly sift the powdered giant swamp taro and
store in an airtight container. When all the necessary ingredients are ready, the preparation
process commenced. Measure the ingredients, toast the powder 2 cups of giant swamp taro in
carajay until light brown, remove from the heat let it cool, melt 1 cup of margarine in carajay,
add the 1 cup of sugar,1 cup of powdered milk,mix thoroughly until well blended, finally
mold the mixture with the use of polvoron molder and wrap with water cellophane.

ABSTRACT
A process of producing polvoron from giant swamp taro comprising "'-',' the steps of: (a) peel the
giant swamp taro and slice thinly; (b) sun-dry until well dried; (c) pulverize the dried giant swamp taro in
the rice grinder or a large mortar and pestle; (d)shift the powdered giant swamp taro and store in an
airtight container; ( e ) measure the ingredients; (f) toast the 2cups of powdered giant swamp taro until
light brown ; (g)remove from heat and let it cool; (h) melt the 1 cup of margarine; (i)add 1 cup of sugar;
(j) toasted giant swamp taro powder; (k) mix thoroughly until well blended; (I) heating the mixture in
low fire for 5 ~: minutes; (m) cooling the said mixture;; (n) molding the said mixture in desired polvoron
molders; and (s) wrapping individually the giant swamp taro polvoron products in desired polvoron
wrappers.
