Excel has a variety of text functions that can be used to manipulate large amounts of data quickly and efficiently
Goto Tools > Pivot Table and Pivot Chart Report >…
Activate the Pivot Table Toolbar on your Excel Window > Goto
Formulas in the Pivot Table drop down menu > Select Calculated

Click into your table or better mark the data area and select
Data: Filter: Autofilter
Using the drop-down boxes per item allows you to display only
specific filtered information
Selecting multiple matches (up to 3 maximum with autofilter)
you can narrow down your search
Or add your own criteria for filtering by clicking on the custom
criteria
To insert subtotals, you first sort your list so that the rows you want
to subtotal are grouped together.
Goto Data > Subtotals >…
VLOOKUP(cell reference of the value to be looked up,table array
range where the first column contains the value being looked
up,position of the column data needs to be retrieved from,type of
match)
Type of Match:
0, False : Gives an exact match
1, True : Gives an approximate or exact match (be sure to sort
your data in ascenfding order before trying this)
