A SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN

IN READING AND WRITING 11

Date: February 28, 2020


Section and Time: Grade 11- Patience ( 7:30-8:30 AM)
Subject Teacher: Ms. Geryll Mae P. Sacabin

I. Objectives

AT the end of the lesson, the students should have:

1. Identified the different types of claim


2. Provide examples of claims
3. Reflect on the importance of identifying what is true
4. Enhance the critical the thinking of the students through a quiz bee.

II. Subject Matter

Topic: Types of Claim


Materials: A Reading and Writing Textbook
References: English 11

III. Lesson Procedure

A. MOTIVATION
The teacher will show different statements from the students on her slides:
For examples:
 ABS CBN should be put into shutdown because of their un-renewed franchise
 Duterte is better than Cory Aquino’s administration
 Social media networks are the best way to get in touch with your loved ones.
 Black Pink are better than the Twice
 Honor graduates are guaranteed success in their careers.

B. LESSON PRESENTATION
The teacher will asked the students to share their insight/ thoughts regarding the
statements presented on the slide. She will do the art questioning to encourage them to participate.

C. DISCUSSION
The teacher will then proceed to her presentation wherein she will let the student read the
slides. The students will be encourage to read and to give their opinions throughout the discussion.

D. FIXING SKILLS
The students will be group into three to proceed on a quiz-bee. The student will identify
from the slides on what type of claims were being stated.

E. GENERALIZATION
The teacher will ask volunteers to share their thoughts and opinions on the topic. She will let
them summarize some of the viewpoints that they have discuss. The students will give their own
insights regarding on the importance of knowing whether informations or ideas are happen to be
true. Moreover, she will also share her own thoughts and opinions regarding on the lesson.

IV. Evaluation
The students will be providing three examples of each claim on a half sheet of paper.

VI. Assignment
The students will answer the activity on their book in page 25.
