ANDRES BARRIOQUINTO
“Dark Man of Philippine Arts” due to his use of macabre in
many of his works.
-UST Fine Arts graduate, multi-awarded because of his iconic
surreal painting style.
-uses juxtaposition and scale, his portraits are famously a mix of
monochrome and technicolor.
-one of CCP’s Thirteen Artists of 2003

-2011 Signature Art Prize
-CCP’s 13 Artists of 2012
-he is known for his mix of Filipino folk culture and history which
he uses to offer commentary on contemporary social issues.

BENEDICTO CABRERA (BenCab)

-National Artist of the Philippines for Visual Arts (Painting)


Award in 2006
- artworks are notable for his mastery of a variety of different
media, including printmaking, painting, photography, and
draftsmanship.
-paintings are primarily figurative, focusing on the female
subject, and occasionally men,

MARTHA ATIENZA
-Baloise Art Prize in Art Basel (Switzerland), 2017
-she was one of the five shortlisted artists for the Benesse Art
Prize (Japan) in the Singapore Biennale, 2016
-Thirteen Artists Awards by the Cultural Center of the
Philippines, 2015
-Ateneo Arts Award with studio Residency Grants in Liverpool,
Melbourne, New York and Singapore (2012 & 2016)
-recipient of the first Mercedes Zobel/Outset Residency at
Gasworks in London (2016).
-sociological approach to her artwork, turning the experience
into a kind of voyeurism of the voyeur.

PATRICIA PEREZ EUSTAQUIO

-13 Artists Award from the CCP in 2010


-awarded residences at Art Omi in New York, and Stitching
Id11 in Amsterdam.
-In 2016, she was commissioned by the Palais de Tokyo in
France, and joined the Singapore Biennale
-idea of vanity, focusing on materials and structures that are
carefully created and staged. Much of her work involves the
materials of craft, including fabric, leather, lace, ceramic,
and upholstery— either handmade or industrial.

MARK SALVATUS

-recipient of the 13 Artists Award from the Cultural Center of the


Philippines (2012); Sovereign-Schoeni Art Prize, Hong Kong
(2012) and Ateneo Art Awards (2010) and is invited to join the
Philippine Pavilion at the Architecture Biennale 2016 in
Venice/IT.

- influenced by the Internet, advertising, and pop culture, his


oeuvre spans a varied range of media, from a series of defaced
city maps ("Codes", 2007- today), sculptural installations
("Model Unit", 2012), to multi-channel video work ("Notes from
the New World", 2015). Salvatus also conducts public
participatory interventions, i.e. "Wrapped: Traces"

KIKO ESCORA

-also known as Manila Animal, is a prolific, chameleon-like


artist whose work changes with every exhibition.
-work has been offered at auction multiple times, with realized
prices ranging from $532 USD to $31,209 USD, depending on the
size and medium of the artwork. Since 2008 the record price for
this artist at auction is $31,209 USD for Sanguine Menagerie
(Diptych), sold at León Gallery, Makati in 2014.
