Spare conductors shall be isolated at the

Instrument/Telecom cables field and connected to IE or IS earth at the


source end.

In cabinets without spare terminals, all spare

conductors shall be covered with yellow/
IEC 61892-6 2013 green sleeves and marked with relevant cable
number and connected directly to relevant
earth bar.
Power cables
In cabinets all spare conductors shall be
marked with a terminal number and
connected to terminals linked together by
solid terminal links , which shall be connected
to the relevant earth bar.

Be adequately insulated by means of


terminations suitable for the type of
protection(heat shrink tube is acceptable)

Unused cores in Be connected to earth in hazardous area end.

Multi-core cables Be adequately insulated from earth and from


each other at BOTH ends by use of suitable
IS cable
terminations.

If other circuits in the cable have an earth


connection(e.g. via the associated
apparatus), be connected to the earth point
