Walter Disney
Walter Elias Disney (b. December 5, 1901 - d. December 15, 1966) was a director,
producer, animator, screenwriter and American entrepreneur, winning 22 times the
Oscars. His name is common in any American household and is known even
among children.
He was the son of Flora and Elias Disney (Canadian origin) and had three brothers
and a sister. As co-founder (with his brother Roy O. Disney) studio Walt Disney
Productions, Walt became one of the most famous filmmakers in the world.
Brothers Disney Company, known as its generic name of The Walt Disney
Company which was founded on October 16, 1923. It has annual revenues of over
30 billion dollars.
Disney and his team created some of the most famous films in the world and some
of the most popular characters, including that most consider alter ego, Mickey
Mouse.
Walt Disney died of lung cancer on December 15, 1966, five years before the
opening of mega Disneyland, Walt Disney World in Florida. He was a smoker
"weakest", one of the so-called "chain smokers" where generated and unrelenting
disease.
