Stood Out Ideas on Climate Change Act

This article paper has been published through Durreesamin Journal as a series of Environmental Advocacy
& Conservation Personal Journal & Reflections compositions for the subject course at the University of the
Philippines. The author was leaning in the curtain wall of their office building while watching the
construction in the nearby area and it comes to his mind the effect of CO2 whereas the construction
materials come from. Likewise in the image, as shown above, this comes from the collection of the
Blogspot website illustrated whereas Metro Manila was hit by the typhoon Ondoy. The author knows and
understands that time of a massive urban development but prone to flooding and at the same time likely
to graft and corruption under the past administrations after the beloved President Ferdinand Marcos
whereas they molested Juan de la Cruz.

Insight
The author didn’t imagine how it becomes, and is it because of people's activities? With all the
repercussions, the environment suffers, and the incident multiplies that can’t count on how many times.
Moreover, the author wants to stand up his concern on climate change action in the Philippines which is
fantastic and has nothing to say about it, but there should be political will from the government side so
that this will be implemented accordingly. The thought on climate change, however, anyone can change
the world today as long as they are supporting the goal in mitigating climate change into a sustainable
environment as well as treasuring such gifts from the almighty God n the prevention of natural resources.

Thoughts on the Climate Change Act

Adaptation is a general plan of action for addressing the impacts of climate change, including climate
variability and extremes or can be said as adaptation strategies that include a mix of policies and

measures that reduce vulnerability to climate change impacts. In the recent adaptation, accordingly, it is a
combination of traditional and innovative strategies that are commonly used whereas more than 50% of
the latest adaptation being focused on food security, terrestrial ecosystem, and water resources.
The type of climate change adaptation that is being considered as explained, however, with all the models,
the author prefer to choose the Autonomous Adaptation and the Planned Adaptation for the climate
change ways of adaptations to sustain a vulnerable sustainable environment.
Furthermore, Autonomous Adaptation is an incremental change in the existing systems using existing
knowledge and technologies as defined whereas changes in time of planting, changes in crops, and
changes in cultivation. Additionally, the Autonomous Adaptation is mostly at the farm level, reactive and
unplanned. Like what happens now in Manila under the leadership of Mayor Isko Moreno in renewing the
existing city that had been molested by the grat and corrupt official in the local government.
While the Planned Adaptation is proactive which is deliberately planned, which is a response agenda and
undertaking before the climate change impacts ever happened; minimize potential losses and damages,
increase resilience and reduce vulnerability. Additionally, the Planned Adaptation usually involves the
changes in or transformation of the broader systems as the changes in policies, changes in institutional
arrangements, and changes in players and roles. This is like what happened to the President of the
Philippines, President Duterte who has the guts and political will in governing the country towards a
sustainable environment in protecting the lives of the Filipinos and the sovereignty. One of his
achievements that the author already published is the massive changes in Manila Bay.
Climate Change Adaptation element is concerned with the Natural Resources Conservation. The
conservation includes soil, water, forests, and biodiversity because the fact that the conservation of the
natural resources aims to sustain the various ecosystem where the concept of the natural resources
conservationists are passionate involves about protecting the environment that provides a swift and
protection of the ecosystem services which is critical to the agricultural production. However, with the
natural resources will supply as sources of freshwater for the irrigation system and processing of farm
products in the development of the country into a sustainable environment.
Natural Resources Conservation involves public policy and sustainable development, however, the
conservation of the natural resources itself is multidisciplinary, covering the topics in resource
management, recreation, development, and ecosystems. The biology, ecology, botany and other natural
sciences are also essential components in the conservation that will help the community in protecting the
inclusive and sustainable agricultural and rural development; where our study concerned ISARD, which is
an emerging paradigm for promoting the sustainability of agricultural and rural development. In return,
will be the incremental revenue in contribution to the socio-economic development of the country at all as
explained.

Conclusion and Findings

With the current environmental trends in adaptation globally, in which from information campaign to
awareness of building adaptation to climate change are now more focused on the design and
implementation. However, using their plans and strategies whereas all the concerned parties are now
equipped and more educated on how they can use and promote whether by protecting or prevention the
contribution to climate change as an adaptation process as well as with the Inclusive and Sustainable
Agricultural and Rural Development.
Hence, adaptation is usually implemented parallel with the pursuit of development goals. Through which is
the link between the farm-related adaptation to natural resources conservation and other sectoral
purposes that need to be enhanced — additionally, an adaptation of the combination of top-bottom and
bottom-up approaches which are now in common, and different strategies as explained, and the
cooperation of the governmental sector. And to let you know, and up to now, climate change is always a
burning issue in today’s generation where the world was alarmed on how to mitigate this kind of
phenomenon and argument for the SR15 target.

The question is, will the rich countries do it honestly and will be prompted on their promise in controlling
the situation? What do you think? But look at the image below from John Locher of Deseret News (Figure
02); do we need to wait for another tragic experience to come for us to learn more? The author’s side,
and think it’s too much; we need to do something now!
