Good morning class !!!

Previously we have discussed gambit conversation . This time we will discuss the short functional text .
"What is short functional text ?" then "What are the types of short functional text ?" and "What about the function
of each text?"

Before answering some of these questions, we first discuss the definition of Short Functional Text .

DEFINITION OF SHORT FUNCTIONAL TEXT

Short Functional Text (short functional text) is a short text that has a specific function, meaning and purpose
used in everyday life.

There are several examples of Short Functional Text , including:

Notice: Command, Caution, Information, Prohibition

Short Message
Letter
Greeting card
Announcement
Shopping list
Advertisement
Invitation: Wedding invitation, Birthday invitation

COMPLETE EXAMPLE OF SHORT FUNCTIONAL TEXT

1. NOTICE
means notification. Notice is divided into command (command), caution (warning), information (information),
and the prohibition (ban).

Notice: Command

Command means command. Notice Command means notification that is commanding.

This notice  command usually orders the person / reader to do what is written in the notice .

Some examples of these notice commands include ordering to:

Close the door

Notice: command

Quiet / not noisy because the test is ongoing

Notice: command

Notice: Caution
Caution means warning. This caution notice  is used to notify a warning.

The function of notice  caution is to warn people / readers to be careful of what is listed in the notice.

Examples of caution notices , including:

Warns that the floor is slippery

Notice: Prohibition

Prohibition means prohibition. Notice prohibition means a prohibited notification.

Notice  prohibition prohibits people / readers to do / not do what was stated in the notice that.

Examples of prohibition notices include:

In addition sta are prohibited from entering the room

Notice: Information

Information means information. Notice Information means notice that is information.

Fungsi notice information ini yakni untuk memberikan informasi kepada pembaca atas apa yang tercantum
dalam notice tersebut.

Contoh notice information, diantaranya:

Informasi mengenai jam buka/tutup tempat wisata

2. SHORT MESSAGE
Short message artinya pesan singkat. Pesan singkat ini bisa berupa SMS, e-mail, dan memo. Beberapa contoh
short message, diantaranya:

3. LETTER

Letter berarti surat. Surat ini dibedakan menjadi beberapa macam yakni:

 formal letter (surat formal),

informal letter (surat informal),
business letter (surat bisnis), dan lain-lain.

Berikut contoh informal letter (surat informal):

4. GREETING CARD

Greeting card artinya kartu ucapan. Kartu ucapan digunakan untuk mengucapkan sesuatu kepada seseorang
lewat sebuah kartu.

Beberapa contoh greeting card diantaranya mengucapkan:

5. ANNOUNCEMENT

Announcement artinya pengumuman. Kita sering temui jenis teks di public area (ruang public), at school (di
sekolah), at hospital (di rumah sakit), dll.

Shopping list artinya da ar perbelanjaan yang merupakan perencanaan mengenai da ar perbelanjaan yang
disusun sebelum berbelanja.

Advertisement artinya iklan. Kita sering jumpai melalui media cetak, dan media elektronik.

Invitation artinya undangan. Kita menggunakan jenis teks ini ketika kita akan mengundang keluarga, teman dan
orang-orang untuk menghadiri sebuah acara.
