Career Talk 2019

The career seminar talk was organized by Sun* Ltd with cooperation of MJIIT and Japan
International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The career seminar talk was on 19th September 2019,
from 2pm until 3.30pm at Azman Hashim Hall. The talk was conducted by Mr.Ikeuchi
Shunsuke.

From the talk, the company has the best result of IT and Japanese education in Vietnam.
It started as CDA of METI and they have taken over from 2014. The goal is developing high-
skilled IT engineer who can communicate in Japanese. In Vietnam, Harol University of Science
and Technology has 200 students or graduates, Vietnam National University has 80 graduates
while Da Nang University of Technology has 50 graduates. Besides, the team has worked with
over 200 companies and produced more than 300 products. Mr Ikeuchi also tells us about the
working situation in Japan which there is a rapidly aging society and low birth rate scenario in
Japan. This means that Japan has a critical worker shortage problem. Thus, they are looking
ways to overcome this problem. Firstly, their government will enchance their law to support
more women workers around age 30 and 64 years old or the elderly from 65 to 69 years. Besides,
they will increase their productivity by using artificial intelligent. However, they mostly
welcoming foreigner to work in their country.

On the others ways, there are a lot of benefit of working in Japan. First, we can learn how
to work as professional. They focus on a word “KAIZEN” which mean pure improvement to
improve their productivity. They will also follow on 5S which are sort, set in order, shine
standardize and sustain. Working in Japan will have the chance to work with latest technology.
Japan is the world third largest automobile manufacturing country and largest electronic goods
industry. Moreover, we will have the chance to work with robots or artificial intelligent. Next,
we will be given more opportunity for future. A lot of Japan company have good training system
and career path. At the same time, most of the company has branches all over the world. Thus,
we will have the chance to come back and work at our country. Besides that, we will be able to
experience Japanese lifestyle and culture. Malaysia and Japan have high affinity as time goes on.
The number of Malaysian tourist is gaining significantly every year. We have the chance to
experience the four season in Japan. There will also be competitive worker benefit working in
Japan. Japan is the 8th place highest average net salary in the world. Based on jobstreet.com, the
average month salary of fresh person in Malaysia is around 600$ while in Japan is around 1930$
which 1$ is around RM4. Thus, annually we can gain around15000$ in Malaysia but around
60000$ in Japan. Working in Japan has many other benefits such as pension, medical treatment
insurance, labor insurance, medical check-up once a year, housing allowance, family allowance,
canteen, company trips and many more.

When working in Japan, we will have the chance to obtain permanent residency in
Japan.There are three ways or condition on applying the permanent residency. Firstly, the applier
has to behave welly in Japan. Second, the applier has to stay in Japan for more than 10 years.

To join Sun* job fair, we need to obtain minimum score of N3 in JLPT. There are two
kind of companies that we will be joining which is well-known big companies or start-up
company. Well-known big companies will have larger scale and long-standing which is more
stable and provide more promotion opportunities. Besides, they have good worker policy and
comprehensive training courses. We will be able to work in a professional working environment
in those companies. On the contrary, start-up companies usually have smaller scale and have
many challenge opportunities. However, they will provide higher salary or bonus if we able to
work hard. There will be a young and friendly working environment working in start-up
companies. We will also be able to learn new technologies in those company. To attend the Sun*
Jobfair, the students will need to pay nothing and the Sun* Jobfair will be held in February of
2020.
