ABSTRACT

The objective of present study was to check the association between cheek dimple and pH of urine. Urine is the fluid by-product made from the
human’s metabolism and animals. pH of excrement indicates and classifies urine, whether or not urine dilute is acid or base resolution. Commonly
pH is seven. If there's pH not up to seven its mean excrement is acidic and pH scale of urine will increase once pH is larger than 7. There are many
sorts of dimples. The cheek dimple causes you to look stunning especially once you smile. The chin and cheek dimples are referred to as the cleft.
Several scientists say that once there's partial fusion throughout embryo formation, it makes dimple on face. Dipstick test analyze the different
components of urine like pH, glucose, bilirubin, urobilinogen and specific gravity. After testing their urine we asked the subjects a question whether
they have cheek dimple on face or not? They gave us answers and we made a list of their answers with pH of urine. Total of 100 subjects took part in
the survey and they were students. Our study concluded that those subjects having pH 6 are more likely to have dimples.

INTRODUCTION

Urine is that the fluid by-product made from the human’s metabolism and animals. pH of excrement indicates and
classifies urine, whether or not urine dilute is acid or base resolution. Commonly pH is seven. If there's pH not up to
seven its mean excrement is acidic and pH scale of urine will increase once pH is larger than 7. The filtrate from the
capillary vessel blood typically acidified by kidneys from a pH of seven to six within the excrement, it depends
upon the people’s acid-base standing. Principally, pH ranges from 6 to 8. The kidneys forever attempt to maintain
the traditional pH within the excrement by organic process of metal (Na) and hollow excretion of gas and ammonia
ions. Typically, acidified excrement is caused once there's excess quantity of atomic number 11. Bicarbonates are
found within the alkaline excrement. Principally the excrement Acidic pH found in pathology, uncontrolled
polygenic disease, dehydration and starvation and metabolism diseases.

Alkaline excrement pH found within the obstruction of tract, pathology of excretory organ hollow, chronic failure
and ventilation in metabolism diseases. In non-vegetarians, their pH of excrement tends to be acidic. Mostly,
microorganisms are answerable for the infection of tract and that they cause excrement to be alkaline as a result of
breakdown of carbamide into ammonia and different alkaline merchandise. The management of pH is extremely
necessary for the patients of bacteriuria and drug medical aid. Excrement pH is said with the muse of excretory
organ stones. Physiological reaction also can cause a high pH in your excrement. Correct medications and foods are
used for patients to alter the pH unceasingly to scale back the possibilities of concretion formation. The acidic diets
that sometimes we tend to eat are fishes, grain, soda and high supermolecule food and alkaline diets embrace
barmy, vegetable, most fruits. In short, the pH of excrement indicates the health of an individual and tells what’s
happening in your body.

There are many sorts of dimples. The cheek dimple causes you to look stunning especially once you smile. The chin
and cheek dimples are referred to as the cleft. Several scientists say that once there's partial fusion throughout
embryo formation, it makes dimple on face. Dimples are the traits through that cheek dimple are dominant. It’s
additionally thought-about because the abnormality of genetic science. The zygomaticus muscles cause the dimples

of cheeks. They’re coupled with the cheeks and also the muscles get flexed once someone smiles that reasons a
dimple to seem. Dimples largely seem on the each cheek however rare to possess dimple on one aspect cheek.
Sometimes, dimples are created because of additional fat on the face however these dimples are temporary
specially occur within the babies and with the age they're lost. These dimples don't seem to be pointers of fine
health and that they will be removed by correct exercise and proper foods. Dimples are connected with the age once
individuals develop up dimples are disappeared. In short, cheek dimple makes someone additional stunning.

The objective of present study was to check the association between cheek dimple and pH of urine.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

Procedure to measure the pH of urine

Dipstick test analyze the different components of urine like pH, glucose, bilirubin, urobilinogen and specific
gravity. In the dipstick test, a specimen plastic cup, strip and color chart are used. Samples of urine are collected in
a plastic cup, about half of the cup. After collecting the sample in cup, strips are provided to the subjects to dip in
the sample for few seconds, and the color of strips changes. Then doctors analyze the results by comparing the strip
with the color chart of different components. In this way, we can check the specific pH of urine by comparing
colors.

Project Design

Firstly, we requested the subjects for their urine test. They gave us permission for test. Then we gave them the
plastic cup and told them the protocol for urination and collection of samples. Samples were collected, about half of
the cup. Then the strips were dipped in the samples. After the few seconds strips were removed and doctor checked
the strips, they analyzed with the color chart and told us the results. Then we asked the subjects a question whether
they have cheek dimple on face or not? They gave us answers and we made a list of their answers with pH of urine.
Total of 100 subjects took part in the survey and they were students.

Statistical Analysis

We calculate the percentage of all the given data to analyze the results.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

Table 1: Association between urine pH (percentage) and cheek dimples.

Having Cheek Dimples

Gender 5 6 7 8

Males 10% 45% 25% 20%

Females 12% 40% 33% 15%

Table shows that the percentage of those subjects having urine pH 6 is very much higher than those that have urine
pH 5, 7 and 8.

Table 2: Association between urine pH(percentage) and cheek dimples.

Not Having Cheek Dimples

Gender 5 6 7 8

Males 26% 30% 24% 20%

Females 19% 39% 34% 8%

Table shows that the percentage of those subjects having urine pH 6 is a little bit higher than those that have
urinepH 5, 7 and 8.

DISCUSSION

Table 1 shows that the percentage of pH 6 in both male and female subjects having cheek dimples is 45% and 40%
respectively which is higher than the other one. It means that the subjects with pH6 have a greater chance to get
dimples on their cheeks. Prior studies tell us information that there was a relation between people and cheek
dimples. O+ individual’s folks have most likelihood of getting cheek dimples. And there was no scientific relation
among glucose level and cheek dimples as results of p-value is smaller than .05 and results were non-significant
place on reportable in previous studies.

CONCLUSION

Our study concluded that those subjects having pH 6 are more likely to have dimples.
