LEVEL 2 QUIZ BOWL GUIDELINES

ACCOUNTANCY WEEK 2020

 Participating group shall send five (5) contestants to


compose a team. The participants are limited to
undergraduates only. Graduates are disqualified to join.

 The teams will compete in the following subjects:


a. Financial Accounting & Reporting
b. Advanced Accounting
c. Management Accounting & Control
d. Auditing
e. Taxation
f. Regulatory Framework for Business Transactions

 The seating arrangement of the contestants/teams shall be in


descending order according to their group number.

 Any member of the team can be designated to answer the


question.

 The quizmaster reads all theory questions twice and once for
problem questions before the contestants answers them
simultaneously. The answer on each question shall be written
in the board provided and to be raised after the ring of the
bell, which signifies the expiration of the time allotted for
the question.

 The time allotted for THEORY QUESTIONS shall be 10 seconds


and PROBLEM QUESTIONS shall be 30 seconds for EASY, 45 seconds
for AVERAGE, 60 seconds for DIFFICULT. The counting of time
shall start after the quizmaster says “GO”.

 Contestants will be given a copy of each PROBLEM QUESTIONS


for them to read along with the quizmaster. The contestants
are allowed to manipulate their calculator only when the
quizmaster says “GO”. Anyone caught violating this rule shall
be given a warning for the first offensive and shall be
disqualified for the next offense.
 Each contestant is to answer 25 questions with three rounds.
Easy, Average, and Difficult. The corresponding points and
number of questions each round as follows.
EASY 5 POINTS 10 QUESTIONS
AVERAGE 10 POINTS 10 QUESTIONS
DIFFICULT 15 POINTS 5 QUESTIONS

 The team who gets the first three highest points shall be
declared winners as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd placers respectively.

 In cases where contestants gain equal points who vied for 1st,
2nd, and 3rd, places, these shall be broken by an additional
tie breaking question using a sudden death system.

 All winners shall be announced right after the contest but


will be awarded during the Closing Ceremony of the Local
Accountancy Days

Note:
All contestants must be at the venue 60 minutes before the start
of the contest. The contestants are required to preset their
official school ID and study load upon registration.

year and must completed or are currently taking the following
subjects
1. Fundamentals of Accounting
2. Partnership Accounting
3. Corporation Accounting
4. Financial Accounting

descending order according to their group number.

question.

mentioned, will tally the score.
