This document is a summary of Andrew Wommack's live Bible study where guest speaker Ashley Terradez discusses the topic of God wanting people to be rich. Some of the main points discussed are:
- God blesses believers with riches according to several Bible verses, but many Christians do not believe or act on this blessing.
- Jesus was actually rich when he lived on earth, and only became poor when he died on the cross to provide riches for believers.
- Believers can activate God's blessing of riches by having diligence in their faith, working hard with their hands, being generous givers, and preparing for opportunities.

The blessing of the Lord makes one rich. Pro 10:22 the soul of the DILIGENT shall be made rich. Pro 13:4 The generous soul will be made rich. Pro 11:25
2 Corinthians 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. “You are RIGHTEOUS!!” But what if I’m struggling with sin, addiction, etc? That’s the most important time to declare and believe “I am righteous!”
1 Peter 2:24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed. “You are HEALED!!” What if I have pain in my body, or a bad report? That’s the most important time to declare “I am healed!”
2 Corinthians 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich. “You are RICH!!” What if I’m broke or in debt and can’t afford to pay the bills? That’s the most important time to declare: “I am rich!”
we don’t understand the purpose of something, we’ll either neglect it, reject it or abuse it! IPAD used as kitchen cutting board Christmas present example. If
GOD WANTS US RICH! When you gave your life to Jesus, you automatically become blessed.
“There are ultimately 2 types of Christians, those who are blessed and believe it, and those who are blessed and don’t believe it”. Proverbs 10:22 The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it.
Why don’t we believe it? -We haven’t heard the truth of the finished work of Christ (if you’re a part of a good church or Charis Bible College this doesn’t apply to you!) -We have seen it abused and used for greed and covetousness -We don’t understand the true purpose of it -We still think Jesus was poor (and we want to be like Jesus)
Jesus was rich: -They gave him offerings (wise men, Mary, others, ) -Treasurer (who also stole from him) -Nice clothes John 19:23 -brand new donkey Mark 11:2 -Tomb was borrowed (Not because of lack of finances, but good stewardship) -Jesus had a House!: Mark 2:14-15 As He passed by, He saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, “Follow Me.” So he arose and followed Him. 15 Now it happened, as He was dining in Levi's house, that many tax collectors and sinners also sat together with Jesus and His disciples; for there were many, and they followed Him. (The word “Levi here was added. Plus, how could Levi follow Jesus to his own house?)
Jesus became poor on the cross. Just like He became sin and sickness. (2 Cor 5:21, 1 Peter 2:24) -Cross was government issued. -Thirsty and naked on the cross (Ultimate poverty)
THE TRUE PURPOSE OF PROSPERITY
2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. The purpose behind us becoming rich is to be able to give to every good work. Deuteronomy 8:18 “And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.
Genesis 12:2 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; (WHY?) And you shall be a blessing. It’s not selfish or greedy to want to be rich, it’s actually selfish to not be believing to be made rich!
HOW DO WE RECEIVE IT AND HOW DO WE WALK IT OUT?
Proverbs 10:22 The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it. It’s not automatic. Once we believe it, how do we activate it?
Galatians 3:9 “So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham”.
2 Corinthians 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.
Grace has provided it (2 Cor 8:9) now our part is by faith to receive it. Ephesians 2:8-10 For by GRACE you have been saved (SOZO’ed) through FAITH, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Grace has provided it, but we have to walk in it. We have to “work out our salvation”. We have to put our “amen” to His “yes”.
Faith without works (corresponding actions) is dead. James 2 These things are 0not works…. They are fruit of what has already taken place on the inside. Genesis 12:2 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. (because I have blessed you, THEREFORE, you will be a blessing. This is a fruit, not a root)
1.DILIGENCE Proverbs 13:4 The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing; But the soul of the DILIGENT shall be made rich.
Diligent to meditate and believe the Word of God in your life!!! Violent take it by force Matt 11 Be doers of the Word and not hearers only James 1 Faith without works (corresponding actions) is dead. James 2
WORK OF YOUR HANDS: -Work of your hands / hard work. “As unto the Lord”. (how much harder would you work if the Lord was watching you? Zach + Alison cutting wood!) Deuteronomy 28:8 “The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
Proverbs 10:4 “…the hand of the diligent makes rich”
Ps 1:3b “….whatever he does shall prosper”. We often look to the spectacular, supernatural provision or blessing, but God uses our natural, adds His super, and gives us supernatural results. We often miss the blessing of the Lord because we are expecting the spectacular. God never told us to seek signs, or experiences, He told us to seek Him! Glory cloud at Healing is Here. Grill smoke. Jesus chose people who were working to follow Him. Fishermen, tax collectors, etc. Paul even made tents! Proverbs 14:23 In all labor there is profit, But idle chatter leads only to poverty. BAD JOB EXAMPLES! - Night Freight trucking, attic insulation,
Ephesians 4:28 Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.
SERVING Work can often look like serving. Joseph served the prisoners. Who are you serving? Serve someone else’s vision until God gives you your own! I served AWM loading trucks at midnight in the freezing cold! Story of when I forgot the Holy Spirit box of books! Serve in church. Serve your family! Serve as unto the Lord, when no one is watching.
PREPERATION -Preparation. Proverbs 21:5 The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes to poverty Have God given plans. God given goals. Write them down, so you can run with them. Communicate them.
Preparation attracts favor and opportunities. Making CD series teachings before ever having a chance to sell them. Then invited to MN. 2 Kings 4: widow woman prepared for the increase BEFORE it happened. Feeding of 5,000, Jesus had them sit down in organized groups, BEFORE the increase came. John 2: They filled the water pots up with water and offered it to the master of ceremonies BEFORE it turned into wine.
Are you prepared for increase? Are you prepared for opportunities? Do you have a plan? Sometimes its the mercy of God that the increase and opportunities haven’t come yet!
2.GENEROSITY Proverbs 11:25 The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself. -Giving money Proverbs 11:24 There is one who scatters (gives), yet increases more; And there is one who withholds more than is right, But it leads to poverty. Giving increases us! 2 Corinthians 9:10 Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, If we don’t give, we are actually eating our seed! Apple seed tree example Acts 20:35b “…And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”
“Your giving will do for you that money never could do”
That’s why the Lord loves a cheerful giver, He’s trying to get MORE to us!
Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. You can give: -Giving preference (esteeming others more highly) -Giving honor / respect -Giving thanks or “thanksgiving”
The Lord’s very nature is generous. He’s the biggest giver! Ps 51:12 The Lord is a “…generous Spirt”
Isaiah 1:19 If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land;
Conclusion / Challenge:
We are often waiting on God, when the truth is, He’s waiting on us! He has done His part. We are ALREADY blessed. We need to activate what we already have! The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, Pro 10:22 the soul of the DILIGENT shall be made rich. Pro 13:4 The generous soul will be made rich. Pro 11:25
