PRONOUN: I / ME

1. The pronoun I / ME is difficult to handle when it is coupled with another pronoun or


subject.

Example: She gave burger to my husband and me. (Correct)

Not ‘to my husband and I.

Give that to me. (Correct)

Not ‘to I’.

2. Consider these two example:

My husband and ____ have been invited to supper.

They have invited my husband and ____ to supper.

3. If you confuse between I/ME in the sentences above, resolve by simplifying the situation
separately.

My husband have been invited to supper.

I have been invited to supper. (Correct) NOT Me have been invited to supper.

They have invited my husband to supper.

They have been invited me to supper. (Correct) NOT They have been invited I to
supper.

4. Correct usage of I and other subject: You and I not I and you.

John and I not I and John.

*Notice that ‘I’ always at the end…

5. The same rule apply for ‘me’ : You and me not Me and you.

Noted that ‘me’ is OBJECTIVE not SUBJECTIVE
