NT 1605
WANTED: USABLE MEN.

Have you seen the advertisement!

"I looked for someone who might rebuild the wall
of righteousness that guards the land. I searched
for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I
wouldn't have to destroy the land, but I found no
one”.
Ezek 22:30-31NIV.

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying,

"Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
Isa 6:8NIV

Have you applied?

THE CONTEXT.
The Lord has bought FGBMFI Nigeria into the season of
divine manifestation of His promises made over the years
(Isaiah 60:22)
The great end time harvest is ripe and the door to the
nations is open, but useable men are scarce.
God is searching for Labourers for His end time harvest of
souls in the nations.
Such are vessels who qualify to fulfill the original divine mandate to man at
creation, which is renewed at re-creation in Christ, namely:
i. To be fruitful;
ii. To multiply;
iii. To replenish the earth;
iv. To subdue the earth;
v. To exercise dominion over all living things. Gen 1:28KJV
To the end that His kingdom shall come and His will shall be done on
earth as it is being done in heaven.

This purpose underscores the need for FGBMFI men to be

prepared by building their life capacity to bear the weight of
His glory.
DURABLES & DISPOSABLES.

“In a wealthy home there are dishes made of gold and silver as well as
some made from wood and clay. The expensive dishes are used for
guests, and the cheap ones are used in the kitchen or to put garbage in.
If you stay away from sin you will be like one of these dishes made of
purest gold-the very best in the house-so that Christ himself can use
you for his highest purposes”. (2 Tim 2:20-21TLB).

All vessels are useful but some are disposable, while others are
durable.
Durable vessels possess an inherent quality produced through a
tough process of purging in the fire of refinement, while
disposable vessels are “cheap” and limited in usage lifespan.
Question: How can I become a durable vessel unto honour
which God can use and re-use at will and without any
hesitation, for his highest purposes.
THE NATURE OF GOD’S WORK.

“Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that
you believe in Him whom He sent." John 6:29 NKJV.

The work of God begins and ends with faith in the finished
work accomplished by Jesus Christ (Rom 1:16-17).
God is the worker – He only seeks vessels through whom
He will execute His work. (Phil2:13. John 14:10).
“Then He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you
fishers of men." Matt 4:19-20NKJV.
God is the sole manufacturer of the vessels He uses.
(Ephe 2:10).
God recruits and produces (shapens, sharpens, trims) such
vessels by Himself and for Himself through the disciple -
making process .
THE PRODUCTION PROCESS FOR DURABLES.

After procurement through the new birth, the raw material has to be processed at
the life quarry of discipleship.

“And the child grew and became strong in spirit, and he was in the
wilderness until the day of his public appearance to Israel”. Luke 1:80 ESV.

Durables must go through a divine incubation period out of public glare during
which the divine processing tools for making lives are deployed upon them, until
the day of their manifestation. The duration of the incubation is tied to the
purpose of use.
<

The Processing tools used for life shaping, sharpening and trimming include:
The hammer of the word. (Jer 23:29).
The fire of the word. (Jer 23:29).
The power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8; luke 24:49 )
The conviction of the Holy Spirit (John16: 8-11; Acts 2: 37)
Suffering. (Heb 5:8; Phil 4: 12-13; 1Tim4:5; 2Tim3:12).
Trials. (James 1:2-4).
FACTORY REJECTS..

What makes God to reject a man.

“But the Lord said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or
his height, for I have rejected him.The Lord does not look at the
things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the
Lord looks at the heart." 1 Sam 16:7NIV.
What disqualifies a man from divine use?
Sin (Isaiah 59:1-3).
Flesh (Rom 8:7-8).
Unbelief (Heb 3:19; 4:2)
Pride (James 4:6).
Self sufficiency (2Cor3:5).
Hypocrisy (Matt 23: 25-28).
Disobedience (2 Cor.10:6).
Love for the world (1John2: 15)
WHY GOD DISCARDS MEN.
Why God discards (discontinue using) men – case studies.
Saul – Disobedience borne out of pride.
“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and
idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also
rejected thee from being king”. 1 Sam 15:23KJV.
Saul ended up as a figurehead ceremonial king whereas God had chosen
another king in waiting, because God can never be stranded.

Isaiah – Presumption leading to carelessness and sin.

“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying,Whom shall I send, and who will go for
us? Then said I, Here am I; send me”. Isa 6:8KJV
Isaiah’s position was being advertised while he was still officially
wearing the regalia of office.

Demas – Loss of focus.

“for Demas, because he loved this world, has deserted me and has gone to
Thessalonica”. 2 Tim 4:10NIV
HOW TO QUALIFY FOR DIVINE USE.
What man needs to do….
“Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel
for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good
work”. 2 Tim 2:21NKJV.
Repent and receive Christ as Saviour to be purged of sin and
the flesh. i.e. be born again (John 2:24-25; 3:3-8;).
Receive and follow Christ as Lord i.e. be yoked with him in
discipleship (Matt11:28-29; luke 9:23).
Abide and continue with Christ as God does not use truants.
(Mark 1:14-15. John 8:31; 1Tim4:16).
Be willing to Obey His commandments promptly as every
obedience qualifies you for a higher use (Isaiah 1:19; Matt
21:28-31).
Be humble, available and faithful so that He can make you able
(1Cor 4:2; 2Tim2:15; 1Sam 15:17).
QUALITIES OF THE MAN GOD USES.
In response to his heart cry, God incubates a man using His divine
implements to produce:
A kingdom minded man.
An Ambassador of Christ.
A man of virtue.
A man of valour.
A man of Faith.
A man of vision.
A man of prayer.
A man of the word.
A man of God.
A man from God.
A growing man.
A going man.
Are these qualities manifest in your life yet?
FINALLY.

What is your response to God’s advertisement for a

man He can use.

A man of like passion (Isaiah) once cried :

Here am I, use me Lord.

What is your own heart cry.

let us pray!
