Name Of Work : Re Numbering HT & LT Poles, Consumer Indexing Under Electrical Section,
Karavaloor.

Estimate Amount : Rs. 1457520/-

Pole numbering under Karavaloor Section was carried out during the year 2011 since the birth
of this Section. During that time, Pole numbering was done on transformer basis and not on
road basis. This too was only done partially as few locations were bearing the old numberings.
Further these pole numbers were not fully updated / were wrongly entered in the Oruma Net
too. Over these long years the existing pole numbers faded severely, many poles are bearing
more than one numbering and has fallen difficult to recognize. During the last 10 years many
transformers were added to system, many poles were changed randomly and much new lines
were added to network, section area widened by receiving other section consumers, which
resulted in a difficult situation for tracing the consumer. Pole numbering by Dept: Staff were
tried presently, resulted in vein.

For the past years there exists an extensive request from the field staff for Re Numbering of the
poles, consumer indexing under Karavaloor Section. Only very few staff who are located in
jurisdiction of this section could trace the real location of many consumers now. Under
Karavaloor Section majority of staff working are from faraway places, which make them painful
to locate the consumers. Moreover now a day the consumers are also switching mobile
numbers and hence it becomes really laborious in finding them.

Due to this situation, Revenue work is mainly affected, much time is being spent by field staff
for locating even few defaulted consumers. At times breakdown team also faces difficulty to
locate the consumer, if he does not pick up phone. Hence Pole Re-Numbering works at this
moment is deemed crucial for the smooth function of Karavaloor Section Office.

Hence this estimate is submitted for considering the work under PMU / R & M and the work
has to be targeted for earliest execution.
