PEC 200 – Communication Skills

GAME HUNT

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
ALL INTERACTION DURING THE EXECUTION OF THE TASKS MUST BE RECORDED
AND SUBMITTED ON GOOGLE CLASSROOM. IN A TEAM OF 5 STUDENTS
COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING TASKS:
Task 1 (Verbal Communication)
One of the team members needs to act like a salesman and promote and convince your customer
(student/lecturer/MSU staff, but not PEC 200 student) about your product (any product which
you own like pen, laptop, bag, etc). Explain about the product, its uses, its price in comparison with
other products of the same type.

RECORD THE ENTIRE ACTIVITY OF CONVINCING THE PERSON TO BE PART OF

YOUR ACT AND YOUR SALES PITCH.

Task 2 (Verbal Communication)

Convince any FOREIGN STUDENT (but not PEC 200 student) to act like a foreign tourist and
give him directions from MSU to KLCC. You must use TWO different routes and explain to them in detail
with all Landmarks to the destination.

RECORD THE ENTIRE ACTIVITY OF CONVINCING THE PERSON TO BE

PART OF YOUR ACT AND GIVING THE DIRECTION.

Task 3 (Non-Verbal Communication)

Choose ANY 3 horror movie names, enact them to any person (student/lecturer/MSU staff, but
not PEC 200 student) and make them guess the name of the movie.

CAPTURE THE VIDEO OF THE ENTIRE ACTIVITY.

Task 4 (Visual / Sign based Communication)
Find any 10 signage across MSU which DO NOT have any text associated with it.

MAKE A VIDEO OF CAPTURING THE SIGNAGE ALONG WITH A TEAM MEMBER

EXPLAINING WHAT DOES THE SIGN REPRESENTS.

Ex: This sign refers to exit.

Task 5 (Written, verbal and pictorial Communication)

From the given picture create a story and write it on a sheet of paper.

THEREAFTER NARRATE THE STORY AND RECORD IT. YOUR STORY MUST BE AT LEAST FOR 5
MINUTES.
Important Note:
1. There are 5 tasks to be completed in the 2 hours. YOU SHOULD COMPLETE THE TASK BY 4.30 PM
2. Maximum of 5 members per team is allowed.
3. Each member of the team must take at least one task.
4. Once all the tasks have been successfully completed, write a reflection (1 page) – (what you learnt
from these activities, how did you feel, what are the areas you need to improve upon) REFLECTION
WRITING IS AN INDIVIDUAL TASK. Please take note.
5. SUBMIT THE REFLECTION TO MS ASYRANI AT SESS OFFICE (LEVEL 11, MSU)
6. All videos are to be compiled and uploaded on Google classroom LATEST BY 12 MIDNIGHT on 5th
JULY 2019.
7. You will be marked both in a group and for your individual efforts.
8. Marks awarded during this activity will be added to your WEEKLY ACTIVITIES
marks.
