Preschool A

Ms. Juwita : juwita.afriani@rsi-indonesia.org

Dear parents,

It’s school time! I write this letter to welcome you to our Preschool Class. I am very happy to
have your child in my classroom.

In Preschool class we will learn to recognize letters, numbers, colors, shapes and many more.
Your child’s materials such as crayons, pencils, drawing book, and textbook should be left at
school. Some important information for the start of the year are listed below:

 We will have line up time every morning at 07.30-07.40 for the early morning class.
For the late morning class line up will be at 11.00-11.10. It is important that your child
arrives on time each day.
 Every day your child will take home his/her student handbook. Please try to check this
each day. It may contain an important announcement or letter, etc. It is important that your
child bring this book everyday to school. We can also communicate in this way. For instance,
if there are family matters and your child cannot attend school, please let me know by
attaching a letter in your child’s handbook. Please cover this book with plastic.
 Toys and personal valuables should not be brought to school. Please do not wear too
much jewelry. If they come with jewelry, the jewelry should not be valuable and your child
will be solely responsible for its safe keeping.
 Please always bring another set of clothes (shirt and pants) for changing if it is needed.
 Please bring food and drink every day to your child. Label your child’s personal
belongings with your child’s name so it will not get mixed with his/her friends.
 The big bag should not brought to school. Please bring the small bag that enough for
lunch food, drinking bottles, and clothes.
 Please pick up the your child from the school on time everyday. Let me know if you
come late to pick up your children before.

We would also like to share the following expectations we have that will help your child better
adjust to our school environment. These expectations will develop their minds, self-confidence
and awareness of others around them.

 Please make sure to have your child seated while eating. They should not walk or
wander while eating their meals. They should learn to feed themselves with utensils. Please
do not feed your children.
 Please reduce the amount of time they play on tablets, smartphones or other electronic
devices.
 Always structure play times so they know when to clean up and how much time they
have before they move to the next activity. For example, let them know that from 1pm to
2pm is free play. Before dinner is when they can either color or draw. After dinner is book
reading time. Structured schedules give children better awareness and cooperation. Children
ultimately thrive under structure.
 Please make sure that you read at least 15 minutes a day with your child. This is a
great way to end the evening with your child and to calmly put them to sleep.
 Please make sure to have your child play games that require sitting still and
concentrating for 15 minutes or longer. This includes puzzles and board games. This will
naturally develop their curiosity for more complex thinking and help them with learning
better self-control.

I really look forward to having a cooperative relationship with you so please let me know if you
have any questions or concerns!

Sincerely

(Teacher)
