OKOWA, SOUTH-SOUTH GOVERNORS MEET; DISCUSS

REGIONAL SECURITY, 13% OIL DERIVATION
On Thursday, March 5th, the Governors of the South-South

region. Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, the Chairman of the South-
South Governors Forum, disclosed this while briefing
newsmen after their meeting in Asaba.

Governor Okowa further stated that the BRACED

Commission, the economic think-tank of the region, has
been mandated to work out the details of the proposed
security outfit.

“We resolved to insist on the full implementation of 13 per

cent derivation for oil-producing states from the Federation
Account Allocation Committee (FAAC). With this resolution,
the 13% derivation that is statutorily due to all oil-producing
states, must first be paid from Nigeria’s oil earnings —
before the rest of the funds are disbursed at the FAAC as
tax earnings,” Governor Okowa posted on his social media
