Toni Watson known professionally
singer-songwriter. She was born on
13 May, 1993.
She released her hit “Dance
Monkey” on 10 May 2019, which is included in her album
“The Kids are Coming”.
She learned how to play keyboards and drum pads at high
school and later got experience at concerts and festivals.
Her YouTube channel states she was 16 when she started
uploading songs. In September 2017, Tones travelled to
Byron Bay, to try busking for the first time.
Later in 2018, Tones and I won Battle of the Buskers at
Buskers by the Creek.
 The story BEHIND “Dance Monkey”
It wasn’t always easy working with the crowds while
busking. She wrote Dance Monkey after performing in the
street for six hours.
As Tones explains: “One person ran past and stole my
money. Someone else tried to play my keyboard. The
whole crowd was drunk and rowdy. I said ‘Sorry this is it
now.’ They started booing me. I was so frustrated. It
showed me how people didn’t have any patience
anymore. Replace the word ‘dance’ with ‘sing’, and that
sums it up.”
