Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may
be assigned.
Work with and assist the Senior Vice President and Chief Litigation
Counsel on various litigation matters;
Manage outside, non-insured litigation, including, without limitation,
case strategy, supervision of outside counsel, legal process.
Interprets laws, rulings, and regulations.
Examines legal data to determine advisability of defending or
prosecuting lawsuit.
Manage written and electronic discovery.
Prepare and/or review business contracts and administer other legal
matters.
Qualifications
Language Ability
Ability to read, analyzes, and edits court filings and other litigation-related
documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or
complaints. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and
presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management.

Education/Experience
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and licensed to practice law or eligible to waive in
or sit for the bar in the State of Tennessee; two to five years’ experience
handling complex litigation and associated matters. Experience in and
understanding of various aspects of healthcare law and litigation and
complex e-discovery issues required.
