Barite
▪ Barite is the key ingredient in drilling mud and used in
powder form (45 -75 microns).
▪ Baso owns and operates barite mines exporting barite ore
from China and Morocco. Additionally, we have capacity in
India to export barite produced by the government owned
mines.
▪ The grinding plants in China and India have capacity to
produce 250,000 MT of barite powder per annum.
▪ A new jigging and grinding plant is under construction in
Morocco aiming to cater to the requirement of the finished
product in West Africa, Latin America and North Africa
Hematite
▪ A high-density weighting material (Specific Gravity of
5.05 min) finds application in muds with weighs more
than 20.00 ppg in water based muds and 19.00 ppg in
oil based muds.
▪ Hematite helps in lowering the solids concentration of
the muds and hence improving the rheological
properties.
▪ Our production facility is based in India, capable of
producing Hematite ore on customized sizing and
packaging.
 Viscosifiers

Viscosifiers as the name suggest are the class of products that assist in controlling the viscosity of the drilling mud. Controlled viscosity of the
mud ensures smooth operation of the drill and achieve optimal performance of the well.

Deflocculant

Calcium Chloride is a highly soluble salt and is widely
used in drill-in and workover fluids to increase density,
improve drill performance, remove cuttings, flush wells
and reduces setting time.
Cement Additives
Calcium Bromide
• Calcium bromide is used in completion and
workover stages. It provides inhibition and quick
correction to density of the mud.
Guar Gum
• Guar Gum is used as thickener in special
formations especially involving high viscosity fluid
applications and fracturing process.
