Sub: Children Education Allowance/Ilostel Subsidyfor the year 2017-18.

The following instructions in connection with reimbursement of Children
EducationAllowanceandhostelsubsidyare asunder-
01. The amountfixed for reimbursement
of ChildrenEducationAllowancewill be Rs.
22501- pm w.e.f.0110712017.
02. The amount fixed for reimbursementof Hostel Subsidywill be Rs. 6750/-pm
w.e.f.0110712017.
03. The Children EducationAllowance will be double for differently abled children
i.e.Rs. 45001-pmw.e.f.0110712017
(RBE 10/2018).
04. Reimbursementwill be claimed once a Year, after completionof the financial
year.
05. For reimbursementof Children EducationAllowance (CEA), a Certificatefrom
the Head of the Institution, where the ward of the Governmentemployeestudies,
will be sufficient. The Certificate should confirm that the child studied in the
schoolduringthe previousacademicyear.(Annexure-I).
06. However,for Hostelsubsidy,a similar certificatefrom the Headof Institutionwith
additional requirement regarding amount of expenditure incurred by the
governmentservanttowardslodging and boardingin the residentialcomplex are
to be furnished (RBB 14712017).The amount of expenditurementioned, or the
ceiling, Rs. 6,7501-pm, whichever is lower shall be paid to the employee.
Employeesarerequiredto submitbonafidecertificatefor hostelsubsidyas pel the
Annexure-I.
07. Hostel subsidy is reimbursableonly in case of child studying in a residential
schooland stayingin hostelof the saidresidentialschool,

 08. Applications for reimbursement/payment
of CEA will be collected after
completionof every financial year the
viz.20l7_lg & onwardsi.e. from 0ll04l20lg
upto 15/0512018.
09. To ensurethat the child/ward has studied
during the academicyear, a bonafide
certificate from schoolhasto be obtained
as per the prescribedAnnexure-r. This
canalsobe in any formatgiven by the
school.
10. In caseof both the spousesare Government
Servants,only one of them can avail
reimbursement underchildren EducationAllowance.
The applicantshoulddeclare
that His/her spousehas not claimed
the allowance,and will be liable for
underD&AR if it is foundto be falseat action
alater date.
11. claims shall be admissibleonly for the
first two surviving children.However,
per oM No' 1201l/03/2008-Estt.(AL) as
dated ll/lt/2008. the children Education
Allowance would be admissiblefor
more than two childrenwhere as a result
the secondchild birth resultsin birth of
of twins or multiple children(RBE 55/2013).

or original fee receipts/cash

letter duly listing the namesfor further
