    A study on

    Running of hotels and hostels in Angallu village


    Every business, whether a start-up or a full-fledged, profitable organization, needs a business
    plan and proper forecasting to survive and to earn reasonable profits. Some people are
    forecasting future needs and market properly and investing funds in that business. Some other
    people are following others to invest their funds in the same field where others have invested.
    But they are not recognising need, growth and future of the business. In Angallu village, a few
    people started hostels and hotels to cater the needs of college students. After that, some of the
    hostels and hotels have closed. New people started entering into the field. In this connection, the
    students are advised to conduct a survey on feasibility of starting and running hostels and
    hotels in Angallu village.

    The students have to submit a detailed report on feasibility on starting and running of hotels
    and hostels in the Angallu village. The students have to focus on the following points.

    1. Capital required and cost of capital


    2. Business size and operational expenditure
    3. Expected life of the business
    4. Income level and Profit volume of the business
    5. Why some of the hotels and hostels running successfully and some of others are going
    to close?
    6. Distinguish between successful hostel/hotel and unsuccessful hostel/hotel?
    7. What type of facilities/services are required to succeed in these businesses?
    8. What are the expectations of the students regarding quality, quantity, price, facilities,
    offers and other disciplinary measures taken by hostels/hotels management?
