SNORKELING

Diving mask

A diving mask is an item of diving

equipment that allows underwater divers,
including scuba divers, free-divers, and
snorkelers, to see clearly underwater. Surface
supplied divers usually use a full face mask or
diving helmet, but in some systems the half mask
may be used.

Swim fins
Swimfins, swim fins, fins or flippers are finlike
accessories worn on the feet, legs or hands and made
from rubber, plastic or combinations of these materials,
to aid movement through the water in water sports
activities such as swimming, bodyboarding,
bodysurfing, kneebording, riverboarding, float-tube
fishing, underwater hockey, underwater rugby and
various type of underwater diving.

Dive Regulator

A diving regulator is a pressure

regulator that reduces pressurized breathing
gas to ambient pressure and delivers it to the
diver. The gas may be air or one of a variety
of specially blended breathing gases.
SKIING
Ski Helmet

A ski helmet is a helmet specifically

designed and constructed for winter
sports. Helmets are available in many styles,
and typically consist of a hard plastic/resin
shell with inner padding.

Gloves and Mittens

Mittens tend to be warmer
than gloves becaus
e your fingers
generate more heat
when they're not
separated from each
other by fabric, as
they are with gloves.
Liner gloves offer excellent dexterity for handling gear without
exposing your skin to the cold.

Ski Socks

Unlike a cotton
tube sock, ski socks are made with
a shape and contour that matches
the shape of your foot. Having
a defined heel and toe with elastomers in all of the right places
prevents the ski sock from getting bunched up and sliding
down in your boots while you ski, which can cause a great
amount of discomfort.

SKY DIVING

Skydiving Helmet

Most sports require helmets;

Tandem skydiving is different. The
helmet is more dangerous to the
instructor than the student so no
helmet. Most of the injuries caused
to skydivers are mainly due to hard
or improper landings. There are
typically two types of helmets used
by skydivers, hard hats and soft
hats. You can choose between
either helmets based on your
preferences along with budget. Hard hats are typically costlier
than soft hats, but are more durable.

Altimeter

The skydiving
altimeter is an essential
piece of kit. Worn on the
hand or wrist, the
analogue altimeter looks
like a watch and shows
the current altitude. The
digitalaltimeter does the
same thing but shows a digital number display as opposed to
the round clock face. Altimeters in the US show the altitude in
feet

Parachute

The
terms skydive, parachut
e jump and just 'jump'
are often used
interchangeably with
each other although
there are some subtle
differences between
some of the terms.
Skydives are
by definition
parachute jumps, that is because at the end of
each skydive a parachute is used to land back on earth.
WAKEBOARDING

Wakeboarding Wetsuit
Wake boarding is a fun and active water sport.
If you want to buy a wetsuit for wake boarding, then
you need to choose one that can offer you plenty of
flexibility. Wetsuits are sold in a number of different
thicknesses and this is measured in 'mm'.

Wakeboarding ropes

Wakeboard ropes are different than water

ski ropes. Quality wakeboard ropes have virtually no
stretch. Unlike water skiers, wakeboarders rely on their ability to load up the rope
to propel them off the wake and pull through tricks.

Buoyancy vest

Buoyancy aids keep you floating in the water

while you are waiting for the boat to pick you up, so
you don't have to swim to stay afloat. Wakeboarding
beginners tend to wear a standard buoyancy aid.
Advanced wakeboarders are more likely to wear an
impact vest.

CANYONING
Canyoning shoes
Canyoning shoes are lighter than
hiking boots though and often feature
neoprene uppers (which help them dry out
quickly) and quick fasteners rather than
laces for easy adjustment in a gorge. Look
for models that have easy drainage to stop
your feet sloshing around and a solid grip
made from sticky rubber to help you
clamber over all that slippery stone.

Canyoning Guidebook

Good guidebooks will give you

pictures of the major obstacles, route
maps, the height of any drops you might
encounter and tell you where to get in and
out of the canyon. Most guidebooks cover
a whole area as opposed to just one
canyon so they can also be great inspiration for future canyoning trips further
afield too.

Kit Bag

To protect your most important gear

from the water, things like mobile phones,
first aid kits and car keys. Dry bags usually
have a fold over top which makes them
airtight and a valve to press any excess air
out of the sack which can cause the bag to
burst if dropped suddenly into deep water.

CAMPING

Tents

A tent is a shelter consisting of

sheets of fabric or other material draped
over, attached to a frame of poles or
attached to a supporting rope.
Tents range in size from "bivouac"
structures, just big enough for one
person to sleep in, up to huge
circus tents capable of seating
thousands of people.

Backpack
a large bag used to carry things on
your back, used especially by people who go
camping or walking: It's a
frame backpack with a belt and padded
shoulder straps.

Flashlights

Flashlight is a light that's small enough to

hold in your hand and carry around. When
you're camping, it's useful to bring
a flashlight so you can find your sleeping bag in
the dark tent. All flashlights are portable,
basically small lamps that fit easily in your
hand, your pocket, or your backpack.

HUNTING

Hunting Weapon (rifle)

Hunting weapons are weapons designed
or used primarily for hunting game animals for
food or sport, as distinct from defensive
weapons or weapons used primarily in
warfare.

CYCLING
Bicycle

A bicycle, also called a cycle or bike, is a

human-powered or motor-powered, pedal-
driven, single-track vehicle, having two wheels
attached to a frame, one behind the other. A
bicycle rider is called a cyclist, or bicyclist.
