A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR RENEWAL OF

ACCREDITATION OF S E N I O R C I T I Z E N A S S O C I A T I O N O F B R G Y . 1 5 7
I N C . , AS A PEOPLE’S ORGANIZATION (PO), SUBJECT TO APPLICABLE LAWS,
RULES AND REGULATIONS, EFFECTIVE UNTIL JUNE 30, 2022.

WHEREAS, under Section 108 of Republic Act 7160 or the Local Government
Code of 1991, the local sanggunian concerned shall accredit non-
governmental organizations subject to such criteria as may be
provided by law;
WHEREAS, ARTICLE 62, Rule XIII of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of
the Local Government Code of 1191(Republic Act 7160) - Role of
People's Organizations, Nongovernmental Organizations and the
Private Sector. — LGUs shall promote the establishment and
operation of people's organizations, NGOs, and the private sector, to
make them active partners in the pursuit of local autonomy. For this
purpose, people's organizations, NGOs, and the private sector shall
be directly involved in the following plans, programs, projects, or
activities of LGUs;

(a) Local special bodies;
WHEREAS, Senior Citizen Association of Brgy. 157 Inc., is a non-stock, non-profit
organization with office address at 205 Malolos Ave., East Bagong
Barrio, Caloocan City and is duly registered with the Securities and
Exchange Commission with Certificate of Registration No.
CN201210402 issued on the 4th day of June, 2012;
WHEREAS, Senior Citizen Association of Brgy. 157 Inc., was established to
“promote and enhance the general welfare of senior citizens of
Caloocan City;
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of Senior Citizen Association of Brgy. 157 Inc
thru a Board Resolution authorized its organization to file an
application for accreditation for membership in the local special
body;
WHEREAS, Senior Citizen Association of Brgy. 157, in an original sworn
statement, stated that its organization will remain independent and
 non-partisan, and that it will retain its autonomy while pursuing the
advancement of its interest through its membership;

WHEREAS, Senior Citizen Association of Brgy. 157, has shown its reliability as
evidenced by its preparation of annual accomplishments report and
conduct of annual meeting;
WHEREAS, Senior Citizen Association of Brgy. 157. , complied with the
provisions of the Local Government Code and its Implementing
Rules and Regulations, in relation to DILG Memorandum Circular
No. 2019 – 72 dated May 22, 2019;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the
Sangguniang Panlungsod of Caloocan City, in session duly
assembled, TO APPROVE THE APPLICATION FOR RENEWAL OF
ACCREDITATION OF SENIOR CITIZEN ASSOCIATION OF BRGY. AS A
PEOPLE’S ORGANIZATION SUBJECT TO APPLICABLE LAWS, RULES
AND REGULATIONS, EFFECTIVE UNTIL JUNE 30, 2022.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that copies of this Resolution be furnished the Office of
the City Mayor Hon. Oscar G. Malapitan, Senior Citizen
Association of Brgy. 157, and all offices, departments and agencies
concerned for their information, guidance and reference.
