TRAINING PROPOSAL

I. PROJECT TITLE:

CONGRESSIONAL SEMINAR – WORKSHOP ON PREPARING QUALITY

TEACHING AND LEARNING RESOURCES WITH SPECIAL TOPICS ON ICT
INTEGRATION IN THE K TO 12 CLASSROOM

II. BACKGROUND/RATIONALE:

Indubitably, teachers are the prime movers of the education

wheel. They are the curriculum shapers, society molders, and life
engineers, considering the magnitude of influence they bestow to the
students. Consequently, a teachers’ pedagogy and choice of relevant
instructional materials could greatly modify the kind of learning that
takes place inside the classroom, which, in effect, enhance the imbibing
of knowledge, skills, and attitudes of our students.

Furthermore, the available learning resources have a great

impact on the learner’s part; relevance, suitability, and the presentation
of each material need to be significantly considered as these factors
affect the learning outcomes and desired competencies of the
students.

One of the prime responsibilities of teachers is to facilitate

learning in the classroom, taking in mind that in the K-12 Curriculum, we
are developing youths to be globally-competitive, and skillful lifelong
learners. Of course, teachers are set not only to improve their
pedagogies but also to improve the learning materials, even possibly
coming up with personalized, tailored-fit ones, in the form of modules,
SIM, workbooks, and the like. Herein, students are presented with better
opportunities for improved efficiency, equity and quality.

This training is intended to all teachers in the 21st century as the

forefront implementers of the K to 12 programs, providing first-hand
knowledge of preparing teaching and learning materials, plus
integrating technology in the pedagogy.
III. DESCRIPTION OF THE TRAINING PROGRAM

The training-workshop is centering on two things: equipping the

educators of the skills and know-hows of coming up with relevant
academic and instructional materials for the students; and furnishing the
teachers’ skill in integrating ICT on the subject matters, with the use of CAI,
WELR, and the like.

IV. GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the training, the participants should be able to:

a. Present strategies, techniques and principles on drafting and
creating relevant academic and instructional materials.
b. Discuss with the participants the types and importance of varied
learning resources, as well as the principles on design and
creation of resources to promote learning.
c. Engage participants in the design and creation of resources to
optimize learning.
d. Provide relevant discussions on ICT integration and utilizing CAI vis-
à-vis quality education.

V. BENEFICIARIES/ PARTICIPANTS:

The beneficiaries/ participants of this training will be the junior and
