CHAPTER III

METHODOLOGY

Research Design

Since conducting a qualitative study, the researcher’s


used the case study type of research wherein it is focused on
the field of education. This study involves to a person’s point of
view or the empirical existential in-depth and with its real-life
context. This study would like to find out link about student’s
impression towards millennial study habits, whether millennial
study habits have a positive or negative effect towards learners
and its academic performances. Data were gathered through
interviews and observation.

Locale of the Study

This study was conducted in Koronadal National


Comprehensive High School- Senior High School (KNCHS-
SHS). The school is located in Koronadal City, Province of
South Cotabato.

Koronadal National Comprehensive High School teaches


students in grades seventh through twelfth. Sir Valentin C.
Dignadice is in charge of the school, acting as the school’s
Principal. Koronadal National Comprehensive High School was
established in 1947, occupying at first a dense cogonal area of
79,000 square meters all the greeneries of shrubs and shaded
trees as its landscape.

Its first name was Koronadal Junior High School and later
through Republic Act 5550, a bill sponsored by James
Chiongbian, converted Koronadal Junior High School to
Korondal National Comprehensive High School on July 1, 1970.
The school’s convertion to a national comprehensive high
school paved a way for more improvements. KNCHS, a premier
secondary institution of learning, stands to build dreams and
aspiration for the search of newer and broader perspective in
the field of education and will continue to strive for better quality
education.

Participants of the Study

The target population of this study are students of SHS


levels coming from Koronadal National Comprehensive High
School (KNCHS) for the school year 2019 – 2020.
Student’s impression towards Millenial study habit. The
sampled respondents were taken from Grade 11 SHS students.

Data Gathering Instrument

The Research utilized set of questions that were used in


the interviews conducted. Open-minded questions were used to
address the problem of this study which is the student’s
impression towards millennial study habits.
Data Gathering Procedures

Primarily, the researchers asked authorization from KNCHS


to conduct this study, upon the approval, the researchers sent a
letter of permission dated January 2020 to the Subject Group
Head of HUMSS of KNCHS-SHS. After the permission was
granted, the researchers conducted the interviews to four(4)
students from senior high school level where in those students
are exposed to millennial study habits, a total of 20 students
were interviewed and finally, formulation of congregated data
was done.

Sampling Techniques

The researchers used purposive or judgemental


sampling method. This sampling method will be used for the
reason that this study focuses on the impressions of millennial
study habits on students. With this, the Researchers identified a
total of twenty (20) students who are elaborate to Millenial
Study Habits as our participants. Out of the data gathered from
twenty (20) Respondents that were chosen, saturation of data
occurred.
