PASSIVE
INCOME
BLUEPRINT FOR
PINOY
BREADWINNERS
BY KATHERINE CASTRO
PINOYBREADWINNERS.COM
THE TYPICAL PINOY
BREADWINNER STORY
"Gusto kong mag-ipon. Pero, kulang na
kulang pa nga ang kinikita ko ngayon. Paano
ako mag-iipon?"

"Investment? Naku, uunahin ko munang

magkaroon kami ng pagkain sa hapag.
Kulang ang budget para dyan!"

I know.

I feel them too.

Pinagdaanan ko rin yan. Sinabi ko rin lahat

yan before.

Until...

pinoybreadwinners.com
pinoybreadwinners.com
Until nagising rin ako sa katotohanang sawa
na rin ako to be living in these excuses.

Sabi nga ni Lolo Einstein, "Insanity is doing

the same things but expecting different
results!"

Kaya naman, naging "serial side hustler" ako

at a very young age.

emergencies ng family ko, I had to be my
own boss...

In my own little ways...

By creating multiple passive income

streams.

pinoybreadwinners.com
Facts First!

Let me share you first ang mga facts.

edad 25-34 years old.

Ibig sabihin, majority ng earning population

ay mga millenials!

Another fact, ang usual retirement age sa

Pilipinas ay 60.

Pero, ito ang shocking truth. Ayon sa

Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) data for
2018, 4.2% ng labor force ay mga nasa edad
65 pataas!

don't like to spend my older years pa na
working hard that way. I want to retire
young... but financially independent!
pinoybreadwinners.com
What's your living budget?

In 2018, sobrang pinag-usapan ang issue

tungkol sa kung magkano ba ang living
budget para sa isang pamilyang Pinoy. Ayon
to live decently.

Pero when I researched about the typical

Pinoy breadwinner's average monthly

P 44,000 monthly. Marami ay mas mababa
pa diyan. Minimum wage earners pa ang
ilan. Kaya naman, kailangang more than 1

breadwinner.

pinoybreadwinners.com
Every Pinoy breadwinner's problem

Knowing all these...

How can a typical Pinoy breadwinner start

saving kung ganito ang sitwasyon?

Paano makakapag-invest ang isang Pinoy

breadwinner given this setup?

Paano makakapaghanda for life's

emergencies ang isang Pinoy breadwinner
kung laging sapat-sapat (minsan ay kulang
pa nga!) ang kinikita nya?

Read on to discover the solution!

pinoybreadwinners.com
DO SOMETHING INSANE AS A
PINOY BREADWINNER
The solution is to create multiple income
streams!

Balikan natin yung sinabi ni Lolo Einstein.

Kailangan may magbago sa setup mo bilang

isang Pinoy breadwinner.

Sabi nga, hindi naman pwedeng sabihin

mong "titigil muna tayo sa pagkain" dahil
wala na tayong pera.

I tell you, hindi nauubos ang needs natin.

Meron tayong needs as long as tayo ay may
buhay!

pinoybreadwinners.com
It's your choice!

Actually marami kang options.

1. Umutang. Para mapagdugtong ang mga

araw-araw na needs.

2. Umiyak na lang. At sumuko sa buhay. Pero

I don't recommend this. Iyak ka lang pero
bangon tayo!

3. Dagdagan ang source of income mo.

Pwedeng dagdagan nyo ang nagwowork sa
pamilya. O magdagdag ka ng pagkakakitaan.
Side hustle. Side line. Side gig. Passive
income.

Bottomline, kailangang makasabay ng

INCOME LEVEL mo sa REASONABLE
LIVING BUDGET mo.

pinoybreadwinners.com
Passive Income?

I would like to define PASSIVE INCOME

bilang source of income na:

- Extra, dahil meron kang isang

permanenteng trabaho or "day job".

- Pinaglalaanan mo lang ng sobrang oras.

- May posibilidad na bigyan ka ng income

even while you sleep!

Pero teka, disclaimer muna ako.

Disclaimer

I am not promoting "scam" or "multilevel

marketing" here.

What I am sharing with you are legit passive

income sources na pwede mong subukan to
earn extra cash.

pinoybreadwinners.com
Insane?

My word of advice to you as early as now:

MAGING MATATAG KA.

Dahil not all people ay believers of doing

side hustle jobs.

makakuha ka ng high-paying job in the
future".

Pero aminin natin, not everyone is given the

same kind of opportunities for those high-
paying jobs.

Kaya may mga side hustlers and passive

income earners like me. (And you!)

(Yeah, I am single!)

- To earn extra cash for your family

- To earn extra cash to save
- To earn extra cash to invest
- To be your own boss at paswelduhin mo
ang sarili mo
- To be financially independent

Simulan na natin ang discussion on passive

income.

pinoybreadwinners.com
PASSIVE INCOME 101
Here is an extensive list of PASSIVE INCOME
opportunities na pwede for Pinoy
breadwinners.

While I may not discuss in full lahat, I have

provided a short explanation on the nature,
advantages and disadvantages of each.

Enjoy exploring!

Visit also pinoybreadwinners.com for latest

updates on passive income opportunities.

pinoybreadwinners.com
Leasing (Paupahan)

urban areas.
- Leasing rates can go up depende sa
location.

Disadvantages:
- Need ng malaking kapital to own a
property
- Need ng maayos na pagmanage ng mga
umuupa to ensure na lagi silang
nakakabayad
- Need to maintain the property

pinoybreadwinners.com
Transient / AirBNB
Usong-uso ito ngayon lalo at booming ang
travel industry sa Pinas! Good source of
may properties near local tourist spots, i.e.
Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Tagaytay, etc.

Advantages:
- Maraming websites ang pwede mong
ienlist ang property mo para sa transient
rent ng mga turista.
- Pwedeng magvary ang rent rate mo
depende sa demand.

Disadvantages:
- Irregular source of income kapag hindi
peak season ng mga turista
- Need for education how to enlist in online
booking sites
- Need to maintain property

pinoybreadwinners.com
Bedspacing / Dorm / Condo
Sharing
If ang bahay nyo ay located near schools,
universities or offices at may extra space
kayo, you may consider bedspacing. Pwede
ring gawin mong dorm type ang isang part
ng bahay nyo.

Uso na rin ang mga nagpapa-condo sharing.

Advantages:
- Usually ay mga single people ang
nagbedspace kaya madali maningil ng renta
compared sa paupahang bahay.

Disadvantages:
- Safety concerns
- Need to maintain the property
- Need to have reliable bedspacers / tenants

pinoybreadwinners.com
Subleasing
Ginagawa ito ng ibang may commercial
space or may extra space sa residential nila.
Pinapaupahan nila ang part ng commercial
area sa mas maraming businesses.

This also works for those operating and

organizing bazaars sa mga malls. They will
rent a hallway sa mall directly tapos ay
hahati-hatiin nila iyon into small spaces sa
bawat gusto magbenta ng kanilang mga
produkto.

I saw this kind of extra income generating

activity when I myself joined bazaars noon.

The same principle works for food park

operators.

pinoybreadwinners.com
Co-working Spaces
If you have an extra space na tahimik ang
ambiance, you may convert it into a shared
working space for freelancers. Uso na ito
ngayon.

Advantages:
- You can have a continuous stream of extra
income lalo na kapag very cozy at work-
friendly ang area.
- You can introduce other income-
generating business dito like serving coffee,
snacks, etc.

Disadvantages:
- You may need to invest to improve the
property / space.

pinoybreadwinners.com
Blogging
Marami ng digital influencers ngayon who
started blogging ang kumikita significantly.

If you have some passion that you want to

talk about, why not blog about it?

Ang mga top blogging topics ngayon ay

about sa travel, finances at relationships.

Paano ka kikita dito? If your blog has

generated many followers already, you may
do sponsored posts about products tapos
babayaran ka nila for the exposure.

Pwede ring mag-earn ka through monetized

ads from Google.
pinoybreadwinners.com
Writing
Alam mo bang there was a time when I
earned almost P 7,000 in a month dahil sa
pagsusulat ng short articles? Napakadaming
online resource websites para makakuha ng
legit and paid writing gigs.

Ilan dito ay:

- Wordmasters.io
- Upwork
- Onlinejobs

With the booming of the information age,

napakalaki ng demand for writers ngayon
and you can earn as much as you can
through research, practice and consistency.

pinoybreadwinners.com
Affiliate Marketing
Another way that bloggers and digital
influencers earn passively is through
affiliate marketing.

Through your followers, you can promote

other people's products and get commission
sa bawat sale nila.

Pwede kang maging affiliate marketer ng

Amazon, Shopify, Clickbank, Ebay, etc.

The commissions you'll earn can be endless

if you do it right and if you are able to grow
your influence.

pinoybreadwinners.com
Sponsored Facebook Posts
If meron kang siginificant influence on a
group of people, pwede kang kumita
through sponsored Facebook posts.

I saw this work sa mga food bloggers who

feature restaurants and food parks. Ang goal
lang nila is to raise awareness sa brand ng
pinopromote nilang restaurants, etc.

bloggers who get paid by resorts para
ifeature ang kanilang lugar.

All these you can do through your personal

Facebook profile or through Facebook pages.

pinoybreadwinners.com
Pisonet
Internet users, a very profitable source of
passive income is Pisonet business.

If alam mo ang payphone noon, Pisonet

works almost the same way. Sa barya-
baryang bayad ng mga gusto gumamit ng
Internet, you can earn as much.

Ang kailangan lang iconsider ay dapat

maganda ang location ng Pisonet business
mo.

Pisonet appears cheaper for many users

compared sa computer shop rent. Kaya sure
na kikita ka dito.
pinoybreadwinners.com
Online Selling
accessories, clothes, bags, cosmetics, even
food!

I have proven this to be a lucrative way to

earn extra money! Ilan sa mga platforms you
can try ay ang Lazada at Shopee.

Pwede rin ang olx at Facebook Marketplace.

pinoybreadwinners.com
Reselling
If you don't have your own product to sell,
you can resell other people's products!
Nagawa ko na rin ito and I tell you, you can
really earn from reselling.

It should
be trendy. Make sure na you makahanap ka
ng good deal with your supplier to make a
significant profit sa benta mo.

Reselling is a passive income opportunity na

literally laway at effort lang ang puhunan
mo dahil may ilang supplier who allows
consignment of items. Babayaran mo na lang
kapag nabenta mo na.

pinoybreadwinners.com
Website Buy & Sell
If mapapag-aralan mo, you can also venture
into buying and selling of websites and
domains.

May mga bumibili ng websites at a good

price, lalo na kapag established na yung
website.

pinoybreadwinners.com
Facebook Pages Buy & Sell
You would not believe it, pero may mga
kumikita through selling of Facebook pages!

The more likes or subscribers sa FB page,

mga social media influencers who like to
grow their reach.

Free ang paggawa ng Facebook pages. If you

can grow one and sell it for a price,
napakaprofitable nun!

pinoybreadwinners.com
Traditional Pautang /
Microfinancing
Syempre, hindi mawawala ang traditional na
pagpapautang or microfinancing. Simply,
you will earn through interest.

Isang risk lang ng ganitong source of extra

income ay ang possibility na maubos ang
kapital mo.

Paano?

Kapag tinakasan ka ng umutang sa iyo.

Kaya naman, do your own credit checking sa

mga taong papautangin mo.

pinoybreadwinners.com
P2P Lending
P2P lending means Peer-to-peer lending.
Parang traditional pagpapautang lang ito,
ang kaibahan lang ay through online
ginagawa.

Through online platforms like FundKo and

MoneyMatch, lenders and borrowers of
money are matched. Pati ang application at
approval ay through online.

Mas malaki ang interest na you will earn

through this kapag dito ka nagpautang kaysa
magdeposito ka sa bangko.

Automated ang process kaya naman literally

you can earn while sleeping.

pinoybreadwinners.com
Bonds
Bonds are simply a form of indebtedness. In
short, pautang rin ito.

Pero instead na sa mga individual persons,

sa mga malalaking korporasyon o kaya
naman sa gobyerno ka magpapautang.

You will earn through a guaranteed and

fixed interest over a period of time.

pinoybreadwinners.com
Blue-Chip Dividend Paying
Stocks
If you'd like, you can also earn passively by
investing in stocks na dividend-paying.

If you'd like to learn more about this, I am

opening a FREE short course soon to help
beginners na makapagsimula sa stock
market. Click here to pre-enroll.

pinoybreadwinners.com
Long-term Stock Investing

In addition sa mga stocks na dividend-

paying, pwede ka ring kumita passively sa
stock market through long-term capital
appreciation.

To explain simply ang concept nito.

Halimbawa ay bumili ka ng 10,000 shares of
stock for 5PHP each, so you invested P
50,000. Let's say after 5 years, tumaas ang
After 5 years, ang halaga ng investment mo
ay P 200,000! Kumita ka na ng P150,000!
Pwede kang magbenta ng shares mo para
maenjoy mo na ang kita mo.

Ganyan ang konsepto ng capital

appreciation at maraming Pinoy na ang
nakakarealize ng beauty nito. I will also
teach this soon. For now, you may pre-enroll
in this FREE course. Click here.

pinoybreadwinners.com
Stock Trading

Halos malapit ang konsepto ng naunang

pahina sa stock trading. Except that in stock
trading, short-term ito.

Maraming stock traders ang kumikita dahil

sa earnings sa fluctuation sa presyo ng
stocks.

Very lucrative ito ngunit pinag-aaralang

mabuti. Sabi nga, trade at your own risk!

pinoybreadwinners.com
Crowdfunding
Crowdfunding as defined is the practice of
funding a project or venture by raising many
small amounts of money from a large
number of people, typically via the Internet.
This is in exchange for a share in the profit.

Marami ng crowdfunding platforms sa

Pilipinas. Ilan sa mga ito ay:

- Gava
- Cropital
- FarmOn
- SparkProject

pinoybreadwinners.com
Mutual Funds
Mutual funds use also the concept of capital
appreciation in stocks. Ang unique lang sa
mutual funds ay:

- You can start small.

- Your money is pooled with other people's
money to form a large fund to be invested.
- Managed by a professional fund manager
for a fee.

You can also earn through dividends and

capital appreciation.

pinoybreadwinners.com
Bank Savings Accounts
Bank savings accounts let you
earn interest for a period of time.

Safe ang pera mo dito. Better rin if malaki-

pwede tumubo.

Pero ang downside nito, madali mo syang

mababawasan (tempting!) at minimal lang
ang kikitain mo.

If you will consider bank savings accounts as

a source of extra cash, better choose wisely
by comparing bank interest rates.
pinoybreadwinners.com
Photo Royalties
Are you good at taking photos?

Well, kesa ipunin mo lang yan sa gallery mo,

o kaya ipost sa Instagram, why not try
submitting them to online stock photo
websites?

They will pay you for your photos through

royalties.

pinoybreadwinners.com
Music Royalties

O baka naman you are good in singing or

making music or creating sound effects!

You won't believe it pero you can also earn

extra cash by submitting your piece online.

Baka pwede mong pagkakitaan as a side gig

ang boses mo as a voice talent, dubber or
voice-over.

Gaya ng photos, you will also earn through

royalties or pwede ring commissions.

pinoybreadwinners.com
Sell Digital Products
Dahil we are already in the digital
information age, parami nang parami ang
opportunities to earn online.

One is by selling digital products like ebooks,

courses, programs, webinars, masterclasses,
workshops, etc.

The key here is to find someone who will

mentor you in doing this dahil hindi rin ito
basta-basta. Pero this is a very promising
income-generating activity!

pinoybreadwinners.com
Franchising
Syempre, one of the usual ways to earn extra
income is to start a business. At isa sa
pinakamadali to execute is to franchise.

Advantage nito is dahil franchising allows

you start a business with an already
established or planned process. Saka may
brand recall na agad. Look at the food carts
around you. Kahit saan ka lumingon, merong
food carts for siomai, shawarma, pizza, milk
tea, etc.

The thing with franchising is that most of

the time, it will require you a large amount
of capital sa simula pa lang. And as with any
traditional brick-and-mortar businesses,
kailangan mo rin ng pera to run its day-to-
day operations.
pinoybreadwinners.com
Retail Store Concepts

Retail store concepts are the traditional

businesses of selling a wide range products
in a single physical shop.

Coffee Vending Machines

If you are in Metro Manila, malamang ay

nakakita ka na ng mga coffee vending
machines sa mga kanto.

Just like any vending machine concept, this

allows you to earn money without having to
monitor it full-time.

pinoybreadwinners.com
Loading Businesses

This is one of the classic ways for Pinoys to

earn extra cash: prepaid cellphone load
retail!

It's very easy and straightforward.

Kalaban mo lang dito is that many Pinoys

are going to postpaid instead.

pinoybreadwinners.com
Outsourcing
If you have skills that you can offer that will
make easy work or solve other people's
problems, maybe you can outsource your
service to them.

This can go far from consultancy works,

bookkeeping, admin works, processing
papers, etc.

pinoybreadwinners.com
Side Freelancing

Palawak na nang palawak ang mundo ng

freelancing ngayon sa Pinas!

At there are many Pinoys who shift to being

online freelancers dahil na rin sa pagdagsa
ng online jobs via websites like Upwork.

You can get part-time jobs that relate to

your skill and get paid by the hour or by
output. Karamihan pa sa mga posted jobs ay
paid in dollars.

All at the comfort of your home!

pinoybreadwinners.com
PERA
PERA stands for Personal Equity and
Retirement Account. Ito ay nilaunch ng BSP
noong 2016 na may goal to help more Pinoys
save for retirement.

Kahit sinong Pinoy with a Philippine Tax

Identification Number (TIN) can sign up and
open a PERA account.

pinoybreadwinners.com
VUL
VUL stands for value unit-linked
investment. Ito ay isa sa mga
pinakaconvenient way to save and invest
money dahil it has these components:

1. Life Insurance
2. Living Benefits (i.e. accidents, critical
illness, disability)
3. Investment

In my practice as a licensed financial

consultant, I can attest that not all VUL
offered today are created equal. Kaya
naman, it is really better if you can compare
options before getting one.

You may schedule a free financial planning

session with me. Just send an email message
at pinoybreadwinners.coach@gmail.com
pinoybreadwinners.com
UITF
UITF stands for unit investment trust fund.

UITF has the very same concept like mutual

funds. Ang tanging pinagkaiba lang nila ay
ang UITF ay adminstered and offered by
local banks.

You will also earn through capital

appreciation as expressed in net asset value
per unit.

pinoybreadwinners.com
Buy & Sell of Foreclosed
Properties
Buying and selling of foreclosed properties is
a lucrative source of extra income.

Pwede ka kumita from buying cheap

foreclosed properties and holding it for a
long time until tumaas ang value ng lupa.

Pwede ring idevelop ang property for

renting. Or rent-to-own property
investments.

Maraming foreclosed properties sa Pag-IBIG.

Or try searching sa Lamudi.com

pinoybreadwinners.com
Junk Shops
May pera sa basura! Totoo yan, may mga
kumikita ng extra cash by buying and selling
junk items.

Garage Sale

Online Trivia Game Shows
Sumisikat ngayon ang mga online trivia
game shows na may totoong pera na
premyo. General information ang mga
tanong dito.

Prizes can go from as low as P 10,000 to a

million!

Try exploring these:

- Kumu
- Paydro
- Confetti Philippines

pinoybreadwinners.com
Ukay-Ukay

I have seen many Pinoys earn a lot of extra

cash by venturing sa ukay-ukay o thrift shop
business. Simple lang, they buy used but
good clothes then sell it!

Bazaars

business.

pinoybreadwinners.com
Napakaraming passive income
opportunities ang naghihintay
sa iyo bilang Pinoy
breadwinner.

sana ay nakatulong ang book

na ito to open you to many
possibilities.

I HAVE ONE LAST ADVICE...
