AUTOMATIC CONTROL VALVE

BAYARD-VT-XGS SYSTEM
MAIN VALVE
BAYARD-VT-XGS

The Series VT-XGS system offers a range of automatic control valves based on the association of the hydraulically
operated, diaphragm actuated main valve and the combination of one or several suitable pilot valves. Fully tested
and suitable for potable water, most common applications are for level control (high low & modulating and electrical
solenoid control) and pressure control (reducing & relief-sustaining).

Head Loss Curves for Fully Open Valve

How to select valve diameter

The diameter of the valve must be chosen according to the flow rate conditions and the pressure on the valves.
Generally two cases can be considered :
Case 1 : The available head or the static pressure is ≤ 1 bar, therefore, the head loss of the valve has to be as low
as possible (2m to 5m according to the DN and design).

Case 2 : The available static pressure is high, so higher velocities can be omitted (beforehand, check that the
available static pressure is higher than the head loss through the fully open valve at the maximum
considered flow rate).

FLOAT OPERATED VALVE
VT-XGS-FT

The high/low VT-XGS-FT pilot operated valve opens fully when the water level in a water tank reaches the pre-set
low point and shuts off (drip tight) when the water reaches the high level. The rotary 3-port stainless steel pilot is
equipped with a stainless steel vertical rod which allows the float to rise and lower to the adjustable stainless steel
upper and lower level stops.
The modulating VT-XGS-FT float valve maintains a constant level in storage tanks and reservoirs. Valve controlled
flow into tank is proportional to discharge flow, keeping the tank full at all times.
Pilot float valve is remote mounted (unless specified valve mounted for high/low pilot). It is recommended to provide
a stilling well around the float if water surface is subject to turbulence and ripples.

Test and Compliance Standards

• Float operated valve tested to BS1212: Part 2: 1990
• Leakage/sealing Class A in accordance with ISO 5208-2
• Compliant with EN12266
• Face to face dimensions to EN 558-1 series 1 and ISO 5752-1
series 1
• Flange drilling in accordance with EN 1092-2 and ISO 7005-2: ISO
PN16

Functions
High/Low Level with Float Pilot
• Closes completely at a constant adjustable top level
• Opens completely at a constant lower level after consumption of an adjustable water depth
• Manually controlled opening and closing speed controller can be added as an option to avoid any hydraulic shock
on request
• Adjustment Range
The differential level of the water is adjustable by pre-setting the 2 pieces of stainless steel collars along the
stainless steel rod for low level (open) and high level (close) positions
