JOB SPECIFICATION

JOB TITLE: Network & Systems Administrator

DEPARTMENT: IT
REPORTING TO: IT Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

 Administration and maintenance of Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and

Microsoft Exchange 2003
 Maintenance of Local Area Network, Firewalls & Routers
 Good knowledge of at least one major data backup solution (e.g. Symantec
KEY TASKS AND Backup Exec)
RESPONSIBILITIES  Experience with antivirus software deployment/management
 Liaison with all external contractors, suppliers and vendors for the effective
procurement of products and services
 Responsible for telecoms equipment and administration of mobile, fixed line
and VOIP
 Internal training of staff in Microsoft office and other technologies
 Maintain and update system Policies & Procedures
 Technical Support:
o Provide hardware & software support to office users
o Provide remote support to off-site teams, to include software,
hardware & VPN problems

 A Technical Certification in Computer Science with 2-3 years experience in a

similar role
 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
 Microsoft Exchange 2003 administration and troubleshooting skills
Skills &  Good knowledge of Active Directory administration and configuration
 Knowledge and experience of networking LAN & WAN configurations and
Experience
protocols
Required:
 Knowledge and experience of Antivirus, Backup and Security applications
 Support of Windows XP & Windows 2000
 Must possess excellent problem analysis & troubleshooting skills
