Participate in class discussions---ask questions that are relevant to the subject matter 5. Approach the learning process by striving to know and understand the Basic Principles of Science and Engineering 6. Do not commit “stuff” to memory—endeavor to understand the material well---it is not hard!!!---lots of everyday examples around you 7. Bring in to this class materials you were taught in other classes such as Physics, Statics, Dynamics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Behaviour of Real Fluids, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, A Curious Mind, etc. etc. 8. READ, READ, READ assigned reading materials and more---understand solution and solution methodologies in solving problems---BE AHEAD OF THE CURVE 9. Use hours outside of class time of instructor to get better understanding of materials discussed in class and also materials in the notes---these hours will not be used for tutorial sessions 10. Begin work on homework (and work on other assignments) problems early to promote the learning experience; DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE NIGHT BEFORE DUE DAY TO WORK ON ASSIGNMENTS…… 11.Copying (and not putting in the effort to understand and apply the materials taught) from other classmates and other sources is an excellent recipe to fail the course. Learn and understand the material from each other but check with instructor when in doubt. 12. Keep your Critical Thinking cap on at all times!!!!!!
