In 1991, China Systems established the Software Development Center in Nanjing, China, a center dedicated
wholly for product research and development. While the company founded its business in the banking area,
China Systems worked very closely with the IBM Innovation Center in Shanghai.
In October 2009, China Systems made a strategic decision to migrate its core solution, Eximbills Enterprise
v2.0, to IBM® System z™ . Eximbills Enterprise is an integrated system that audits and automates the
complete cycle of trade finance transactions. This solution already supports IBM middleware, such as
WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere MQ and DB2, on multiple platforms including AIX, AS/400 and
Linux, under the IBM Innovation Center’s long-term solution consultation and enablement. Using these
middleware platforms and open architecture design, banks can be vendor-independent and are able to control
future costs. This multi-platform application allows bank employees and other users to access authorized data
through the Internet, intranet and extranet.
Using the IBM Innovation Center global network, IBM has been able to provide an efficient System z remote
development and validation program for business partners. For the EE migration to System z, the Shanghai
Innovation Center was the point of contact to access the System z environment housed in the Innovation
Center in Dallas. IBM’s Innovation Centers have a pool of consultants and a technical team devoted solely on
System z customer queries, help desk issues and troubleshooting. In February 2010, China Systems
completed testing and successfully migrated and validated Eximbills Enterprise v2.0 on the IBM System z
platform.
Mr. Eric Tseng, deputy general manager of China Systems Development Center, is very pleased with the IBM
Innovation Center’s global support: “IBM’s global network of Innovation Centers, particularly the Shanghai,
Dallas, and India centers, have supported and ensured a fast, streamlined, and efficient product migration and
validation on System z. “
