The Return

By Jose Corazon De Jesus

I was about to kiss her forehead,

In my eyes tears were coming;
A white handkerchief strikes me,
When I left her by the stairs:
In such a sad separation,
I'm unhappy and she's depressed

At the gate, I was able to escape

She shout out, "Come back soon!"
My answer is "Yes, no delays!"
I was smiling when my tears shed ...
And I left, tracing the path,
My heart was broken and my wife was left behind;

The sun was setting, it was getting dark and the Moon was yet to shine;
it was already established when I came to my customary free land,
Owls in huts and black birds
Greeted my arrival!

At the door of a resident I knocked on the door,

They greeted me warmly,
Ate a little ,slept in sadness
That the heart doesn't seem to want to throb,
My proverb "heartbeat stops When I'm really asleep"
At dawn,
The sun was shining, the eyes were shining;
I've already started what I should do:
I plow, plow, plant;
In the month of December,
in the garden of sweetness,
I will reap and bring it to my beloved

And I came home with everything,

fruits and cracked rice,
flower of grass on the side of the path I embrace and offer the gift,
When I left she was crying,
O! now maybe she'll be happy!

And I ran, almost in a hurry!

Somewhere in our house there was a musician,
Our home is happily true and the guest is in turmoil!
"Thank God!" what I said,
"they knew I was coming!"

But,oh! destiny! Doors open

I was drawn to my gaze
Four candles are guarded
Around the body of my beloved
Her face was smiling and when I kissed her As if to say …
"Goodbye! Goodbye!"
