SCIENCE SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN

Prepared by: Divine Grace S. Camacho

March 6, 2020

I. Objective/s:
At the end of 60-minute period, the students are able to:

a. identify the stages of mitosis and their chromosomal behavior;

b. state the important role of mitosis;
c. demonstrate how the phases of mitosis work using their own bodies.

II. Subject Matter:

Topic: Mitosis

Materials:
Lesson plan, Laptop, Plasma TV, Activity Worksheet

III. Procedures:
A. Pre-lesson
a. Prayer
b. Classroom Management
 The students will be asked to arrange their chairs properly, and pick-up
pieces of trash on the floor.
c. Review of the past topic
 The students and the teacher will review the last topic, and the students will
be asked if there are any assignments.
d. Motivation
 The students will watch a short video.
 The students will be given an activity worksheet. They will answer it by-pair.
B. Lesson Proper

a. Discussion
 The teacher will give information for further understanding.
 The students will be asked further question about the mitosis.

Key Words:
Centrioles- a minute cylindrical organelle, occurring in pairs and involved in the
development of spindle fibers in cell division.
Spindle Fiber- form a protein structure that divides the genetic material in a cell.
Chromatids- one half of a replicated chromosome.
Underlying Ideas:

Phases Chromosomal Behavior Diagram

Prophase Chromosomes condensed

Metaphase Chromosomes aligned at the

center of the cell.

Anaphase Sister chromatids separate and

go to their respective poles

Telophase Sister chromatids completely

separated.

C. Group Activity
 The class will be divided into 4 groups. Each group will demonstrate about
how the phases of mitosis work using their own bodies.
D. Generalization
 The students will be asked randomly to summarize the topic discussed.
 The students will be also asked the importance of mitosis.

IV. Evaluation
Directions: Identify the stages of Mitosis. Then, draw the various phases with the emphasis on
chromosomal behavior.

Phases
(list down the phases Chromosomal Behavior Diagram
respectively)

V. Assignment

In a long bond paper, the students will create diagrams of each phase of mitosis using art
supplies.
