Beste studenten en medewerkers,

Zoals jullie ongetwijfeld gehoord en gelezen hebben, heeft het kabinet alle hogescholen en
universiteiten opgeroepen om alle onderwijsactiviteiten en evenementen op locatie stil te
leggen. Dit om verdere verspreiding van het coronavirus te voorkomen. Dat geldt ook voor de
HvA. Daarom vervallen vanaf vrijdag 13 maart om 17.00 uur alle onderwijsactiviteiten op
locatie. Dit geldt in elk geval tot en met 31 maart.

De snelle verspreiding van het Coronavirus en de huidige maatregelen van het kabinet hebben
ingrijpende gevolgen voor iedereen. Deze situatie vraagt om flexibiliteit en begrip van ons
allen. Niet op alle vragen kunnen we op dit moment een passend antwoord geven. Laten we
telkens met elkaar zoeken naar de best haalbare oplossingen. We vertrouwen op jullie begrip,
medewerking en steun.

Onderwijs niet op locatie, wel online

De geplande onderwijsactiviteiten en tentamens op locatie gaan deze maand niet door. We

proberen zoveel mogelijk door te laten gaan via online kanalen. Onderwijs op afstand, dus.
Waar dat niet mogelijk is, moet een ander alternatief gezocht worden. Specifieke informatie
over je eigen studie krijg je vanuit de opleiding. Voor nadere informatie raden we je aan
om coronainfo.mijnhva.nl en/of www.hva.nl/coronainfo in de gaten te blijven houden.

De HvA doet er alles aan om te zorgen dat deze sluiting van het onderwijs op locatie zo min
mogelijk invloed heeft op de studievoortgang van studenten. Het is belangrijk dat studenten en
de opleiding hier voortdurend goed contact over hebben. De omstandigheden kunnen immers
snel veranderen.

Stages
Studenten die een stage lopen, bespreken met het stagebedrijf en met de opleiding wat ze
doen. Wie vragen en/of problemen heeft, bespreekt deze met de opleiding. Deze informeert
studenten en medewerkers zelf ook actief.

Toetsweek: nadere info volgt later

Bij veel opleidingen is er vanaf maandag 30 maart een toetsweek. Tot en met dinsdag 31
maart gaan de toetsen op locatie niet door. Of de toetsen vanaf 1 april wel of niet door kunnen
gaan, is op dit moment nog niet bekend. Daarover volgt uiterlijk vrijdag 20 maart nadere
informatie van de opleiding. Toetsen die niet doorgaan worden zo snel mogelijk ingehaald.

Evenementen en onderwijsbijeenkomsten afgelast

Onderwijsbijeenkomsten en overige evenementen op de locaties van de HvA gaan tot en met

31 maart niet door. Dat geldt ook voor evenementen van studieverenigingen.

Medewerkers: thuiswerken

Medewerkers wordt geadviseerd zoveel mogelijk thuis te werken en onderlinge besprekingen

via online kanalen te houden. Probeer cruciale overleggen indien mogelijk door te laten gaan,
zo mogelijk online. Doe dat altijd in overleg met de eigen afdeling en overige collega’s.
Mensen met verkoudheid, hoesten of koorts moeten thuis blijven. Wie te maken heeft met zorg
voor kwetsbare personen neemt – in overleg - passende maatregelen.

Gebouwen wel open

De gebouwen van de HvA zijn wel open om een aantal cruciale zaken in de ondersteunende
organisatie en faciliteiten te kunnen garanderen. De kantines gaan dicht. Het kan zijn dat een
aantal gebouwen alsnog tijdelijk gesloten moet worden. Als dat gebeurt, volgt z.s.m. nadere
informatie daarover.

Algemene richtlijnen gezondheid

Het is belangrijk dat alle Nederlanders zich houden aan de gezondheidsrichtlijnen van het
RIVM. Lees die goed en houd je daar aan. Kijk regelmatig naar updates op de site van het
RIVM.

NO EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES IN AUAS BUILDINGS

AND WORKING FROM HOME UNTIL MARCH 31ST
Dear students and staff,

As I am sure you have heard and read, the government has called on all universities (of
applied sciences) to shut down all educational activities and events on location. This is to
prevent further spread of the coronavirus. For this reason, the AUAS has decided to cease all
on-site activities as of Friday March 13th, at 5 pm. This protocol will stay in place until at least
March 31st.

The rapid spread of the coronavirus and the government's current measures know far-reaching
consequences for everyone. This situation demands flexibility and understanding from all of
us. We cannot give a suitable answer to all questions at this time. Let us seek the best
possible solutions together. We rely on your understanding, cooperation and support

Education not on location, but online

The planned educational activities (including exams) on location will not take place this month.

We will try to let as much as possible continue through online channels. Meaning that distance
learning will take place wherever possible. We are working on finding alternatives for
educational activities that cannot take place through these online channels. Your own study
programme will keep you informed regarding any programme-specific information. We advise
you to keep an eye out for any further information posted
on coronainfo.mijnhva.nl and/or www.amsterdamuas.com/coronainfo.

The AUAS will do everything in its power to ensure that this stillstand of educational activities
on-site has as little influence as possible on students’ academic progress. A clear line of
communication between the students and their programmes is of utter importance at all time.
After all, these conditions can change rapidly.

Internships

Students who are currently doing their internships can discuss their course of action with their
work placement company and their study programme. Any questions and/or issues can be
discussed with the study programme who actively keeps their own students and employees
informed.

Test week: more information will follow later

Many programmes have a test week scheduled, starting Monday March 30th. All on-site
exams scheduled on/before Tuesday March 31st will not take place. At this time, we are not
able to confirm whether any exams scheduled on/after Wednesday April 1st will take place.
Further information about this will follow no later than Friday March 20th.

Events and educational meetings cancelled

Educational meetings and other events in AUAS buildings will not take place until March 31st.
This also applies to events organised by study associations.

Employees: working from home

Employees are advised to work from home as much as possible and arrange for meetings to
be taken place through online channels. Try to continue crucial meetings (if possible, online). It
is important to consult with your own department and other colleagues on the best way to
proceed. Anyone with a cold, cough or fever must stay at home. Anyone dealing with the care
of vulnerable people will take the appropriate measures, in consultation with their
superior/colleagues.

Those dealing with care for vulnerable persons take appropriate measures (in consultation).
Buildings will remain open

The AUAS buildings will remain open in order to guarantee operations on several crucial
issues in the supporting organisation. The canteens will be closed. Several AUAS buildings
may still have to be temporarily closed. Further information will follow as soon as possible if
this were to happen.

General health guidelines

It is important that all Dutch people adhere to the health guidelines set by the National Institute
for Public Health and the Environment. Read them carefully and adhere to them. Regularly
check for updates on their website.
