Description: Book of Poetry also known as BITS OF POETRY is a compilation of different types of
poem written by ‘La Pre Se Ferre’ members in partial fulfillment for creative writing at the end of
the 1st semester. It is a project that expresses one's creative thought and feeling towards a
particular subject.

Curator's Note: Some of the students don't spend their time in writing and reading due to social
media. To think creatively such as making a poem is not easy for them because they lack knowledge
about it. However, as the creative writing introduces the colorful idea about fiction and poetry,
students get excited and inspired by writing. This allows anyone to be a writer without a judgement.

Object: Stage Miniature (THRUST/ ARENA)

Description: Thrust stage is a kind of stage surrounded by audience on three sides. While arena stage
also known as ‘Round stage’ is a central stage surrounded by audience on all sides. These artifacts are
miniature stage made of recycled materials. It is created for an activity in creative writing to show
the difference of both stages.

Curator's note: To differentiate something, it's important to do it in a creative way. Though it's not
necessary, you can catch the attention of your viewer's easily.

Object: Article of Rights

Date: The Constitution of the Philippines (Filipino: Saligang Batas ng Pilipinas or Konstitusyon ng
Pilipinas, Spanish: Constitución de la República de Filipinas) is the constitution or supreme law of the
Republic of the Philippines. Its final draft was completed by the Constitutional Commission on
October 12, 1986 and was ratified by a nationwide plebiscite on February 2, 1987.

Description: The foundation of the system of government of the Philippines is the constitution.
Constitution defined: In its broad sense, the term constitution refers to the “body of rules and
principles in accordance with which the powers of sovereignty is regularly exercised.”

Curator's note: Philippine constitution promotes effective industrialization and aim for a full
employment of its people. All natural resources within the Philippine territory shall be owned by the
State. Protect the rights of the indigenous cultural communities.

Object: Internet Memes


Date: The concept of the Internet meme was first proposed by Mike Godwin in the June 1993 issue

of Wired.

Description: A meme is a virally-transmitted photograph that is embellished with text that pokes fun

at a cultural symbol or social idea. The majority of modern memes are captioned photos that are

intended to be funny, often as a way to publicly ridicule human behavior. Other memes can be videos

and verbal expressions.


Curator's note: A meme acts as a unit for carrying cultural ideas, symbols or practices, which can be

transmitted from one mind to another through writing, speech, gestures, rituals or other imitable

phenomena.”

Object: Evolution of Filipina Dress

Date: This formal outfit was popular during the Philippine-Spanish colonial era, especially in the

1890s.

Description: The Filipiniana is a formal outfit for women. It was only worn by mestizas during the

Spanish colonial period as it combines the elements of both indigenous and Spanish designs. This

formal outfit was popular during the Philippine-Spanish colonial era.


Curator's note: The Filipiniana As A Symbol of Femininity As the mindset regarding femininity

changed throughout the history of the Philippines, so did the expectations society had on how women

should dress. The pre-colonial times saw a style that showcased the equality of the status of men and

women.

Object: Evolution of Filipina Dress

Description: Kimona is typically a transparent piece of clothing made of pineapple fiber while the

skirt is usually either floor-length or knee-length printed with the Patadyong pattern, hence getting

the name Patadyong skirt. Kimona is the name for the women' top or dress that is considered as the

customary apparel for women in the Philippines.


Curator's note: Each region of the Philippines has its own distinct traditional clothing. The Cordilleras

have their Igorot ethnic outfits and Manila boasts its Maria Clara dress. In the islands of the Visayas

regions (particularly in Cebu and the Negros island) the Kimona represents the fashion of Visayas. The

kimona was used to be worn for everyday activities as casual dress or for formal occasion.

Description: Modern Filipiniana has been evolving from a traditional ceremonial outfit into a staple

part of everyday Filipina’s closets. This integration has been possible due to innovative designs that

preserve the traditional components while introducing new, stylistic changes.

Curator's note: "Modern Filipiniana is a symbolic representation of our cultural identity and a

continuous reflection of the arts and life of our people. As our society evolves and progresses, so does
our clothing. Creating a Modern Filipiniana outfit is a way to bridge the gap between tradition and

contemporary, all while bearing in mind the history of Filipino fashion and its revered elegance. It is

not simply changing what we already are familiar with, but translating the great culture of our past

into a story that the current generation can understand and appreciate. A balanced coexistence of

the history and the present, it is the innovation of the classic while preserving the core of a

Filipiniana."

Object: Lapu- lapu Weapon


Date: The Lapu- lapu shrine is a large memorial tower built in 1866
Description: The Lapu-Lapu shrine is a 20 metres (66 ft) bronze statue in Punta Engaño, Lapu-Lapu

City, Cebu, Philippines, erected in honor of Lapu-Lapu, a native leader who defeated Spanish soldiers

led by the Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan in the 1521 Battle of Mactan.

Curator's note: The Lapu-Lapu Shrine is inside a plaza commonly known as the Magellan Shrine that

commemorates the events of the Battle of Mactan.

Object: Philippine Preamble

Date: The Preamble (Version A)

It was written in the summer of 1787.


Description: A preamble is an introductory and expressionary statement in a document that explains

the document's purpose and underlying philosophy. When applied to the opening paragraphs of a

statute, it may recite historical facts pertinent to the subject of the statute. It is distinct from the

long title or enacting formula of a law.

Curator's note: The preamble to our constitution serves two purposes: It indicates the source from

which the constitution gets its authority. It also states the objects which the constitution seeks to

establish and promote.
