If the following error is encountered during the installation process: “The video device could not be
added - Video Device has an Invalid VPN IP” The device should be factory reset by pressing and holding
the button for 15 seconds. Follow steps 1-5 below to begin installation of the device after the factory
reset.

1. The camera should be in AP Mode to begin this process:

- RC/OC: The camera’s power LED should be alternating between Green and Amber
- MDC: The camera’s LED should be alternating between Green and Amber
- DBC: The Camera’s LED should blink red

2. Connect to the camera’s access point, as if you were performing a normal camera installation

3. Navigate to the following URL in the browser:

(copy and paste)

adtinstall.com/adm/set_group.cgi?group=SYSTEM&ntp_server=ntp.alarm.com&ntp_server2=ntp.alarm.
com&ntp_server3=ntp.alarm.com&ntp_mode=1

If prompted for credentials:

user: administrator
password: (leave blank, no password)

You should see a response from the camera “OK”

4. Go to adtinstall.com to enter end user’s Wi-Fi information

5. Wait for the camera to connect to the Wi-Fi network (~30 Seconds)

6. Power cycle the camera and install it on the customer’s account.

If you go through these steps and the camera still shows “The video device could not be added - Video
Device has an Invalid VPN IP”, factory reset the device and try the process again.

Note: The credentials listed in the steps above are only applicable to updating certain camera functions.
In order to install and use the cameras, unique credentials are used that are automatically managed by
